Description for Buick Regal 1987
Vehicle Details1987 Buick Grand National. Car is currently at Cotton’s Performance Center in Agawam, MA. I’m the second owner, bought bone stock with 27k miles in 1999. All upgrades and work have been done by Brian Cotton over the last 23 years. Car is accident free, garaged it’s whole life and has never been abused. The custom aluminum exhaust is incredible, the turbo is new and unused and so is the methanol injection. It also has a new aluminum radiator and dual cooling fans. I added them and have never run the car. Drive train has less than 500 easy miles with about 10 tuning passes with 25lbs of boost, but that was with C-16, before the new turbo and the methanol injection. This is the reason I’m selling it, I’m simply not interested in chasing big hp anymore and the car is barely ever driven. Car is going to sell at a price less than all the upgrades and so you are getting more than the car for free if you bought a similar stock car and did all this work. I hate to do it, but it’s time to pass it on. Please feel free to ask me any questions you’d like, I know the entire history of this car.
The car is a 1987 Buick Grand National, 2 owner car with 82,000 kilometers, original Canadian car. Clean car fax, NO accidents ever. Original paint with new bumper fillers, give the paint and body an 8 out of 10 with zero rust, imperfections in the body are the typical original paint stuff. It has some really nice stock appearing fiberglass bumpers. Interior is a 9 out of 10 also all original, newer headliner.
Chassis, car has a 6 point roll bar with swing outs, custom installation to be hidden and paint matched to the interior, front suspension is Trz Chromoly upper and lower a-arms with QA1 double adjustable coilovers. Classic Baer brakes on the front and fresh drum brakes in the rear with s10 wheel cylinders, fully built 33 spline axles and spool with c-clip eliminators and 3.42 gears with welded axle tubes, Wolfe race craft anti roll bar in the rear, Wolfe race craft double adjustable upper and lower rear control arms, single adjustable QA1 in the back with stock location coil springs, frame notched with 325/50r15 tire in the rear with polished Weld RT-S wheels 10” rear 8” front, vacuum brake conversion with a line lock.
Transmission, ATI th400 with trans brake, ATI billet converter spec to match the combo, 3.5” driveshaft with 1350 u joints and good yokes front and rear, Metco driveshaft loop, external trans cooler with fan and trans temp gauge with AN lines, B&M billet gate shifter.
Motor, RPE built 153 block, stage2, Champion fully ported R heads, with TRD shaft style roller rockers, RPE specd hydraulic roller cam with Johnson short travel lifters, fully ported Bowling Green intake manifold, matched to the heads, Atr headers with custom 4 bolt setup for a Precision 76/75 billet ball bearing, Custom Cottons 3.5” SS downpipe with Precision 46mm external gate plumbed back into downpipe, Custom Cottons 4” Aluminum exhaust out the back with a 4” aluminum 4” Vibrant muffler, Cottons front mount intercooler, RJC pulleys, champion a/c delete bracket, Accufab 70 mm throttle body, Fast XFI, innovative electronic boost controller, brand new aluminum radiator with dual intrepid fans, Cottons valve covers, custom aluminum oil pan with external pickup for Duttweiler oil pump and remote oil filter setup, new ac/Delco alternator I’m sure there is more I am missing.
Fuel system, Fuel cell in the trunk with External Aeromotive pump, -10 feed -8 return with Aeromotive regulator, 160# injectors, AlkyControl dual nozzle meth injection,
The car is in phenomenal condition and we’ll known Turbo Buick performance specialist, Brian Cotton, is the only one to ever work on it.
If you ever consider building the ultimate street sleeper Turbo Buick, save a pile of money and buy this one….under 500 miles on the drive train and just 10 easy tuning passes. Never raced or even a burn out on the street….always babied and adult driven.
