Description for Buick GS 350 1971
Up for sale is my privately owned very rare 1971 Buick GS 350 Convertible. Buick motor division built only 656 of the special order GS 350 Convertibles in 1971, all of them came with special options such as a higher output 350 motor, Four barrel carburetor, Power disc brakes, Chrome road wheels, Sport steering wheel, Sport mirrors, Ram Air induction, Dual exhaust and the very cool Gran Sport appearance package including a dual snorkel hood, red striped rocker moldings, front spoiler and GS badging and emblems. This GS is also equipped with Harrison air conditioning, Power steering, 3.73 rear geared positraction, Turbo 350 automatic transmission, Solar tinted windows, Code 75 Fire Red exterior and Pearl white interior with split bench seat as well as the highly sought after convertible option with power retractable top. This car had received a full frame up restoration with its original, matching numbers motor shortly before I purchased it back in August 2017.During the restoration the exterior paint color was changed the from the original code 78 Rosewood to code 75 Fire Red. The interior was also changed to the year correct pearl white from dark saddle. It should be noted that the odometer was reset to 0 during the restoration and now shows just over 6,000 miles, consequently the actually mileage is unknown but was likely near 100K before the restoration.
The VIN number of the car is 434671H174556 which translates to 4=Buick, 34=GS 350, 67=GS Convertible, 1=1971 model year, H=Flint Michigan plant, 174556 is the production number and matches the last 6 numbers on the engine stamping showing it is the original engine. This car has been restored with many NOS parts is truly one of the finest GS 350 convertibles to be found and is probably the most undervalued car in the muscle car field with its super low production number of only 656 total cars built.
This car is well done and ready to drive with no problems.
