Description for Buick Riviera 1957
1957 Buick Super 56R. Body is very solid and original. Only small body rust is driver side rocker. Original paint and patina. Chrome is fair some pieces better than others.Floors are decent with some pinholes. Trunk has golf ball size rust holes.
Interior is original (with maybe the exception of the seat covers?). It is worn as to be expected.
Dash gauges work with the exception of the speedo. Original radio inop.
Factory power steering, power brakes and power seat all working.
All lights work both interior and exterior.
All windows intact and working. windshield is cracked.
Sadly at one point in time the Nailhead/Dynaflow has been replaced with a small block chevy, TH400 trans and C-10 trailing arms rear suspension setup. Running the numbers brings back a 1980s 305 with HO heads. Runs well enough with 2bbl carb. No smoke and no fluid leaks.
Cooling system is a large aluminum rad with 18 inch puller fan on thermo switch. Runs very cool.
Original gas tank has been replaced with 15 gallon fuel cell. Original gas gauge adapted to work.
Wheels are 15x10 rear with 255/70/15 tires. Front are 15x7 with 225/70/15 tires.
It cruises well to the local car shows and get alot of attention as a 1950s era rat rod type.
Ran a 200 plus mile round trip to Ocean City Maryland Cruisin' OCMD car show in the fall with no issues.
