Description for Buick Riviera 1990
Up for bids is my beautiful 1990 Buick Riviera. The car has 102. 00 miles and is a super nice riding driving car. I have gone on a couple six hundred mile trips withit and at 65 MPH I got 29 miles per gallon. The Buick built 3800 V-6 has a excellent reputation as most people know. I've enjoyed the car as a recreational driver inthe spring. ummer months. I have stored it in the winters. I purchased the car from a man in Des Moines Iowa who had it advertised in the National Riviera Club. Apparently. he knew of the car for many years before finally being able to purchase it. He loved the color and wanted the gorgeous velour cloth interior as opposedto leather. That was also the reason I bought the car. for the color. the cloth interior and the premium condition. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate the car about an 8. It's a super nice laser straight comfort cruiser. It has not ever been smoked in and the interior still smells new. Last summer the air compressor seized on it while blowingcold air. I put on a new compressor. had the system cleaned and fully evacuated and then converted over to R-34. The air is ice cold. Here are a couple things I know of that are wrong with the car. The plastic push button for the horn on steering wheel has a little tab broken off on it. It is pictured onthe console in my photo's. It would need to be replaced. The power antenna does not operate. I just keep it partially extended. The power pull down for the trunklid is inoperative. I never bothered to replace the mechanism as it seems like a worthless bit of problematic equipment to me. The passenger side power door lock is inoperative. It can be operated manually with ease so I never messed with it. With regards to the power door lock. The previous owner told me he locked the keys in the car one time. The service he called to open the car were amateurs. Theyattempted to open it on the drivers side and failed. They then proceeded with the shim tool to the passenger side and obtained access on that side. I think they simplyknocked off something inside the door because you can hear the door lock activating and the lock lever does move slightly. The previous owner confirmed the poweractuator was working prior to the shim tool being used by an amatuer. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. I purchased this vehicle because of the overall condition and the fact that it has been well maintained and has a goodhistory behind it. I'm picky about my cars. Finally. I have the car titled and registered in Minnesota but the car is in Springfield Missouri. I retired shortly after purchasingthe car and moved to Missouri. The car only had one brief week in Minnesota about two years ago. Again. the car has been garaged it's entire life. Call me with any questions : Mark 612-839-0746
