1955 Buick Special 2 Door Hardtop 496 CI BBC Ford 9" Four Link Low Mileage Hot Rod Sleeper2 Door hardtop '55 Buick Special. Under 200 miles on this build. Undocumented 29. 00 original mile car. Original interior except carpet and a small insert on drivers seat. The front seat still had an old plastic cover on it when the car was purchased by the current owner 4 years ago. The car sat from 1973 until 2008 in a garage in Salina. Ks. and was well preserved. The body was stripped to bare metal. prepped and painted With Dupont paint and clear. The colors are Arctic White and Firepepper Red Pearl. The paint is smooth as glass and the body is straight. The only bit of rust was just before the rear wheel well openings. The areas were cut out and replaced with patch panels. Floors and trunk are SOLID. Doors. hood and decklid open and close very nicely. All gaps are excellent. INTERIOR: Beautiful condition! All original except for carpet and a small insert on the driver's side of the seat. Full Marshall electric gauges. Water. oil. volt and tachometer. Very tastefully installed to maintain a stock appearance. Dome light. glove box light and trunk light all work correctly. CHASSIS: Stock frame and front suspension including all new drum brakes. Undercarriage has been sandblasted and detailed. Midas shocks on the front. VERY CLEAN! The rear end is a Currie Ford 9" with an Art Morrison Parallel four bar kit and Aldan adjustable coil over shocks. Professionally installed. The gear is a 3:55 with open differential. ENGINE: 496 CI Big Block Chevrolet. Chevrolet 2 bolt block bored . 060. decked and align bored. Eagle 4. 25" stroke cast crankshaft. Eagle H beam rods and Keith Black Icon forged pistons making 9:1 compression. Aluminum oval port heads with 118 cc chambers. stainless valves. Competition Engineering springs. retainers. locks and push rods. stainless roller rockers. Camshaft is Lunati Bracket Master II 292/292 duration 480/480 lift 109 LSA. Very lopey idle! Holley aluminum intake and Holley 750 double pumper. Very powerful and responsive!TRANSMISSION: TH 400 Built with a TCI shift kit and B&M Street Fighter 2500 rpm torque converter. Custom drive shaft. New yoke and fully balanced. IGNITION: Mallory dual point distributor. MSD coil and Taylor plug wires. High output mini alternator. EXHAUST: New cast manifolds. 2 1/2" aluminized pipes with aluminized glasspack mufflers. Stainless steel tips at the back. The car sounds amazing. COOLING: Aluminum 4 row radiator. aluminum water pump. 16" flex fan with custom fabricated aluminum shroud. CHROME/TRIM: All chrome and stainless trim is original and nice. Minor pitting on the front bumper and the tail light bezels. The rear bumper was re chromed. All glass is in excellent condition with the exception of minor pitting on the windshield. All new brake and park lenses. All new weather strip. TIRES/WHEELS Stock steel wheels and original Buick hubcaps. Whitewall radial tires.
