Description for Cadillac DeVille 1965
1965 Cadillac Sedan Deville Hard top. This car is a true barn find sold from the original owner in 1995 it has been in a garage in a small town in Missouri for nearly 20 years. As you can see n the pictures the dust is still on the car from sitting. It started up with a new battery immediately. Engine runs great. Overall this is an original untouched car. Below are the facts I know.
1. The first owner sold it after he veered off to miss a deer. He hit a mailbox with the right front fender, hich is pictured then put a scratch down both passenger doors and the right quarter panel. The scratch did not dent the car, ust took the paint off as you can see in the pictures. The next owner took the bumper off, ut was not experienced in body work. He bought a new bumper for some parts and the grill, ut the new bumper has approximately a 4 inch rust hole in the right front bottom
2. There is a dent in the lower section of the rear passenger door.
3. While being stored, omething fell and hit the upper windshield trim and cracked the windshield.
4 there is a little rust on the inner drivers side fender on the upper side by the headlight assembly.
5. The is a ding on the right side of the hood.
There is a ding on the left side of the rear bumper. Overall the chrome is in excellent shape on the car, ut there is some pitting in various areas that is minor.
The passenger side of this car has never been touched, ut due to the accident it must now be fixed and painted. Overall it appears that this car has only had some prior body work on the drivers door and rear part of the drivers fender. Otherwise the rest of car appears to be the original paint. You can check this car under the inside of the doors and behind every panel where rust would be, ut this car is very solid. It is apparent that the car has been garaged its entire life
Alpine Turquoise Poly Paint Code 28 Turquoise Interior
Factory air. Does not work, ower steering works great. Clock works. Power seats work. All power windows work except the passenger rear window. I cannot get the radio working either. The interior is as follows. Carpet good, eeds a good cleaning and shampoo. The dash is great. The instrument panel is in great shape. Door panels are good. No tears or cuts, ust a little wear. The only significant wear on the seats are on the drivers side, s seen in the pictures
Original 429 Engine is clean. The engine has not been tampered with and it is immaculate under the hood.
You can run your hands over the drip shields above the windows and they are perfectly clean like they came from the factory, he door panels, inge pillars look awesome. Inside the trunk looks great. There is some wear on the trunks fabric.
Some weatherstripping wear warrants some new weatherstripping around the windows and in the trunk. Car has brand new tires that were purchased, ut it was never driven on them, riginal cadillac hubcaps.
As stated this car is very original and the accident that the old man had was unfortunate, ut this cadillac can be made into a beautiful car. I have bought and sold several cadillacs and would love to fix this one, ut do not have time. You are welcome to call me at 713-382-9697 or you are welcome to come look at the car before buying. This car does not need and all over job on the exterior to be made beautiful. It just needs the right side fixed and some spotting in a couple small places. Given that paint is original and that it has been under cover it can be blended.
I tried to cover all the negatives, ut forgot a lot of the positives. If you are a cadillac guy or even a car guy, ou can see that this car has loads of potential and has a lot of originality. It is not one of those rust buckets or edgy cadillacs that needs everything.
Nearly 200000 cadillacs were produced in 1965. There were 45535 4 door hard tops made but only 15000 Sedan deVilles. This car is labeled ST 65-68369
