Description for Cadillac DeVille 1971
If you saw this before, was having trouble adding pictures so I took it down and started over.My dad bought this car from a lady in Alabama around 1993. It was a single owner car, ever wrecked. It was his project and we did lots of work on it together like lowering it, having the chrome, ustom exhaust, emoving the vinyl top, ew Quadrajet, ou name it. He died in 1998 and I inherited it. I drove it back and forth to school but I didn't have the money to maintain it and couldn't afford gas for it either (you have to run premium in it due to the engine design and the mileage on a 472 is atrocious) so I parked it at my mom's farm intending to finish it when I got the money.
Of course I never got the money. Life happened. Three kids later it's still out there. The window had quit rolling up and I put a tarp over it, ut the tarp blew off and that went undetected for a while (I don't live nearby) and it got rained in some. The back seat looks good. As you can see, he front seat was bad while I was driving it. Probably could use new carpet too.
It ran when I put it up ten years ago (I drove it out to the farm). It had a lot of little issues, eaks and such, ut no major problems. I just couldn't afford to fix all the little stuff or buy gas for it. The big 472 motor is good but it'll probably take some doing to get it started since it's been sitting up so long. Of course this is sold as is because I'm sure it's gotten worse sitting out there. It's been sitting for ten years, o don't expect great things to happen right away. It shouldn't take much to get it to start since I drove it out there back in the day, ut I'm sure there is work to be done.
This car holds a lot of heartbreak for me. I couldn't really stand to drive it because all I did was think about my dad, nd I was glad to park it on the farm and forget about it, ut I am sad to see what's become of it. I would love for someone to get it going, ust not me. I promised I wouldn't sell it, ut I have a project of my own I'm working on with my three girls, nd the money from this will go into that. That way I can still honor my dad's memory but I won't have to do it through this particular car. If you do get it up and running, would appreciate the opportunity to take it for one drive. It's the car I learned to drive in. I miss him dearly, nd I want to see this car get a good home, just don't have it in me to do it. Too many memories.
No title, ut due to the age, ll you need in GA is a bill of sale. The odometer says 72,927 but I'm not sure it was working. I left the key with my mom when I took it out there, ut the key got lost so you'll have to figure that out. The car is on a very rural farm 12 miles or so west of Milledgeville, o you have to be able to get there with a trailer to get it. The driveway is about a mile long and pretty bumpy, o be prepared. Also, his is a really heavy car, o make sure you've got what it takes to move it.
I would really prefer it if this was not bought as a scrap or parts car. If you're not planning on getting it on the road, lease don't buy it. Thanks for your time.
