Up for auction is a true time capsule-a 1972 Cadillac Eldorado coupe with 46,983 original miles on it. The car is in truly amazing condition. I bought it from the original owner's family-it was their grandfather's pride and joy and it shows. The car was stored in a climate controlled warehouse fro the last 8 years and before that was in the grandfather's climate controlled home garage for it's entire life so it is amazingly well preserved and not dried out, eat upor rusted.

There is absolutely no rust on the car anywhere! There are a couple of minor dings on the body and one moderate ding on the driver's door body line that can probably be removed by a good paintless dent guy. The paint appears to be mostly original because the car has the original hand painted pinstripes that came from the factory. The are faded in spots proving that they are original. The car has never been wrecked so the body panels are straight and aligned like they were at the factory. There was some paint work done around the vinyl top. Minor rust was repaired, he vinyl top was replaced with original material and the area was repainted. It was only minor surface rust and was professionally repaired and matches perfectly. All of the paint was polished and shines up brilliantly. You can seeeverything clearly in the reflection! Even under the fender skirts looksand shines like new-no rust at all under the skirts. The chrome bumpers are excellent with no rust or pitting and the rubber bumper guards are soft and show no damage. The center bar of the rear bumper has a dent. All of the trim and brightwork is in excellent shape as well with no pitting or damage. Even the rubber body fillersbetween the fenders and bumper are soft and pliable-usually they are dried out and cracked or missing. All of the glass is original and uncracked and has no scratches.

The interior of the car is amazing! Because it wasalways stored in climate controlled facilities, here is no moldy, usty old car smell and it is not dried out. The leather seats are clean, oft and supple and has no tears or split seams and has not dried out or shrunk. The seats are as comfortable as new because the foam has not broken down. The carpet is clean and not worn out anywhere-same with the original rubber floormats. The dashis flawless with no cracks or fading at all. The door panels are all in excellent shape with no cracks. All of the seals are still soft and pliable. The headliner is perfect and there are no signs of leaks or water damage.The power seat works smooth and quiet like new.

Mechanically the car is excellent as well, he car rides like new-smooth and tight. The brakes are firm and tight. The acceleration is instant and strong. The car does not smoke or burn oil and idles smoothly. Everything works perfectly except for the clock. The A/C blows ice cold and the climate control regulates the temperature as designed. The cruise control works. Even the automatic dimming headlights and the twilight sentinel lights work. I have never seen both work on the same car. The radio works-not sure about the 8-track player because I don't have any to test it. Power locks and windows work smooth and fast. Power trunk release works. Underneath the car is as clean as up top. It has no engine or transmission leaks at all. It does have a minor power steering leak from the gearbox. It is a slow leak so I left it because all of the other major components are original and I wants to keep it that way. The plugs, ires, elts and hoses were recently replaced and I discovered they were all original with correct GM stampings and date codes so I kept them-amazing. The factory inspection markings are still visible showing what kind of pampered life this car has lived. The underbody drain holes still have the rubber flaps over them-I didn't know these even existed!

The car comes with a clean title. It will probably have a couple hundred additional miles due to test drives and the occasional cruise. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within3 days and The car must be paid for within 7 days of the auction end date unless other arrangements are agreed to in advance. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks and I can help arrange shipping at the buyer's expense. The car is located in the west suburbs and is available for test drives and viewing.
