Description for Cadillac Brougham 1989

1989 Cadillac Brougham - 4dr. 8Cyl. 5. 0L autoI am the 2nd owner (girl owner) of the car I bought in 1999. It has almost 134K miles and still runs good. It doesn't leak oil or water either. I had air shocks put in at one point so has a smoothe cadillac ride. nbsp;although could probably use some air at this point. In June 2014. I took it for a nice 150 mile trip to Long Island where it is now kept. Just before it passed inspection. it needed some brake lines and a new alternator. The highlight of the car are the Original Cadillac Chrome Spoke Wheels. They cost a bundle but worth replacingthe common spoke hub caps it came standard with. (I see someone is selling new ones for $1699- Looks like the wheels are worth more than the car). Although they need a buffing. they clean up nicely; I started cleaning the one in the picture to show. They also have locks so they cant be stolen. yet the car was broken into when i moved to NY in 2003. they stole the electric antenna and my expensive stereo so had the original unit put back. There was a fluke accident before I moved from Ct. A car driving on the highway in front of me. It's catalytic converter ? broke off her car was heading right at my window. I didn't swerve enough. it still landed right onto top front corner and crushed a good part of that piece in front of the hood. That is why the front was replaced. And it's black. It was not major major damage. but certain body work. Hence I painted the pinstripes black for conformity. This was again around 2003. Also. nbsp;a) The car still has the Original Owner's Manual in Black leather. b) The Original Cadillac Donut spare in the trunk I believe I used it once. It still is in new conditionThe body is in fair condition it has not been garaged and the landau top has started to disconnect. The paint is dull and lacks the luster it had. and there are wear spots around the car some look like little dots of rust. but some these are surface and can be sanded. Someone hit the top of the driver side upper passenger door so there is a ding/ minor dent there. The car however. could probably use paint to bring it back to life. There are no interior rust issues between the door hinges. The leather on the seats is still excellent. The front leather arm rest the driver side has big tear and passenger arm has 2 slits. The interior lights work. even the driver mirror lights still work. not the passenger side I just checked. The lightbulb needs to be changed under the hood. I loved when it came on when I opened it. I bought a new battery last week as it had been sitting. but now it starts up with 3 pumps in the morning; then rest of the day starts by turning just the key. as it always did. It has the "Y" Oldsmobile Motor I was told more desirable than the 9 motor. The brake light went on when I was driving it back to Long Island. yet I had brake work done June 6. 2014 and brake lines done. I mentioned June 13. 2014 must be the front. ? I'll check the repair order. -I have every service record from Oil changes to inspections and various receipts of repair work done thru-out the years. The car runs well and is still very reliable despite its age. mileage and the issues that I know of:1) Windshield Washer doesn't turn off when button pressed; (wipers work fine). 2) A. C. comes out of heater vent 3) Cassettes get stuck. 4) Electric antenna someone stole. hence hanger in a hole. 5) Cruise Control somehow got disconnected. So these are every negative thing that I know of. but to me is a good running car. I moved home to an elderly mom and sadly there is no room. but on the street. P. S. LIFETIME spark plug wires from autozone . replaced 2 years ago. I had a mechanic install them. He charged me $95. I had a "heart attack" (Guess you cant bring your own food to a restaurant; hence plate charge). P. P. S. The Ashtray I never used and cigarette lighter still works. What a commodityAny other questions or need more Pictures lemme know. thats all I can think of right now. Come take it for a ride if near Long Island; or anywhere for that matter.
