PROVENANCE

This very rare vehicle has been well maintained throughout its life & repainted, eupholstered & re-chromed in 1961 then into storage in 1965. Purchased by my uncle in 1997 who sympathetically rebuilt the engine & drivetrain encompassing mostly the repainting, olishing, eplacing incidental trim items etc. & re-chroming all parts bringing it to at least a high #3 condition, ossibly #2 based on its present condition. It was toured & shown until 2003 at which time it was driven into garage & stored since. We have chosen to leave the vehicle in its stored condition rather than attempting to start it, ut have checked all fluids, ubricated the cylinders and successfully spun the engine manually with ease. Additionally, he car was recently rolled out of the garage for the purpose of taking pictures, roving the tires hold air and nothing is locked up.

This very Cadillac was specially ordered & earmarked for display at the 1933, lfred P. Sloan yearly industrial luncheon* at New York City's Waldorf Astoria's Jade Room Exhibit as evidenced by the original Distributor's Order dated 9/26/32 (see below).A GM archive photo (see below) shows a 370-C on display at the 1931 luncheon & this car, umber 4 was likely displayed as the showcase vehicle at the January 1933 Sloan Luncheon, onsidering it shipped to the Waldorf Astoria Jade Room Exhibit just weeks before.

Due to scheduling restraints & unfamiliarity of classic cars, e are having the appraiser-ClassicGray© moderate the auction & competently answer all your questions.

~ CONDITION ~

EXTERIOR:Paint, b>Italian Cream 20734 is in remarkably good condition considering its age & storage which demonstrates excellent body prep & application. There are many edge chips, few scrapes (RF fender), urface blemishes & significant cracking on RF door bottom, ut no peeling or bubbling on the straight, ust & filler-free panels, evertheless only Fair/Good. There are a few small dents, ost notable on RF fender top. Brightwork is Fair/Good w/ no flaking, ut small blistering on most all surfaces. All emblems present & in Good/VG condition. Glass appears Good & the headlight, b>Trippe lights & Blue Dot lenses are VG. Kelsey Hayes Wire Wheels & V12 Insignia center caps are Good/VG, .50X17 tires w/ good tread, ut obviously not meant for touring. The Haartz Jonarts 5000 fabric top is in general Good condition w/ some crease discoloration, few small tears & edge fraying. Bows & hardware are Good. Both spares have excellent tread w/ good sidewalls.

INTERIOR-Uncovered for apprx. 11yrs. & shows the expected dust & effects from the elements. Black Leather seats are becoming less supple w/ time & show minor surface cracking & some stitching loss, he back seats being in poorer condition. Carpets are worn & some panels under dash area are missing, oor panels are Good & all wood is Very Good/Show & still has a beautiful sheen & figuring w/ no delamination or undue wear, owever showing scratches along door tops. Wood fascia above dash is off, ut in VG/Show condition & glovebox is apart. Divider glass & dual side wind wings Good & operable. Dash & instrumentation are Very Good. Has a poorly attached, intage turn signal on steering wheel that is in Good condition. Complete interior needs cleaning, olishing & leather needs nourishing. Appears to be complete & not beyond returning to its former condition w/ a detailing & seat restitching.

ENGINE/UNDERCARRIAGE-The 368ci V12engine spins freely & the video dated 8/25/15 demonstrates this fact. Engine is very clean & only needs minor detailing to be VG/Show quality. Paper element air cleaners replacing original oil bath system filter air to the twin Detroit Lubricator Carbs, therwise all factory & numbers matching. It has a radiator full of anti-freeze, nother plus, ut needs flushing. Undercarriage is relatively clean albeit w/ minor surface rust & has newer SS exhaust.

MECHANICAL/ROAD TEST-Not currently running but given it was driven into the garage in Very Good condition & its current state of preservation w/ a free spinning engine, t could be made running w/ basic, ecessary mechanicalprep.

SUMMARY

A `33 Cadillac fulfilling all the attributes of a #4- vehicle exceeding a #5 Restorable/Poor example w/ the potential of approaching the #3- category w/ a professional detailing & mechanical refurbishing. Although the V16's garner the most attention, his Harley Earl, rt Deco inspired design w/ a total 370-C production of 952 w/ this being #4 of 37, 12 All Weather Phaetons & possibly 1 of 2 known to exist could be one of the rarest & therefore immensely desirable. Given its rarity, xclusivity, riginality & amazingly good condition this is an ideal candidate for a proper restoration and on to Pebble Beach! The market is experiencing an upswing akin to the pre `08 days & American made, ull Classics are as popular as ever consistently topping book values.
