The dated tailfins were eliminated and replaced with a pair of blade-type rear fenders. The bodylines assumed a much crisper overall design theme. Noise was reduced. vibration and harshness lessened. and interior space was expanded. This was achieved with a new perimeter frame that replaced the outdated X-member arrangement of the late 1950s. This also allowed the engine to be moved forward six inches. For 1966. the changes were few. Mechanical features included a 340 horsepower. 429 cubic-inch V8 engine. mated to a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic that first appeared in 1964. This is a fantastic original 1966 Cadillac DeVille convertible with a fully documented 91. 00 original mile history the car has been in single ownership since 1970 and nearly every service and repair was done at Marvin K Brown San Diego’s Largest Cadillac dealer. nbsp; we have every receipt since 1971. The vehicle wears its original paint with couple areas being retouched up and refreshed over the years. The top and black glass is original as is the interior. Carpets are fresh and like new. From 50. 00 miles when purchased all necessary repairs were as needed At 82. 00 miles the vehicle began undergoing several high dollar repairs the engine was overhauled. Shocks were done. brake master cylinder rebuilt. carburetor. heater core. Radiator. AC compressor. hydraulics for top. u-joints gaskets and seals. fuel system. Cosmetically over time trim pieces and interior items were replaced. Since the most recent owner the Radiator was again new. the AC was thoroughly gone through with new compressor. This is an extremely well cared for and babied automobile. no expense was spared in its upkeep. The vehicle trim and chrome shows some ware but no pitting or rot. its body is of a very solid California Car. The interior is comfortable and nice. The drive is absolutely amazing seldom will someone spend the necessary funds to fix and repair these vehicles. This 1966 Cadillac is one of the best driving cars on the market. The exterior finish could benefit from a re-spray or proper matching to the doors as seen in phots the tone is a little off however it is not bad to be enjoy as it sits.
