Description for Cadillac Series 62 Sedan 1941
This is a highly desirable pre-War model prior to shut down of auto production for war industry. Elderly collector has terminated renovation due to health. 95% that had been done is to above Average standards, (in my opinion.) All body and interior trims are complete, (except for missing ash tray.)In just 10 years after the Model A, which cruises comfortably at 50 + mph, technology had progressed to V-8 performance suitable for modern highways. It is not 100% original as it's been updated with a 1972 Cadillac 500 c.c. and its matching automatic transmission, giving it neck breaking retro rod performance. A little tap on the gas and it's going 70 mph! I can tell you, it's really a fun car to drive! Best of all, 1972 replacement parts are readily available at reasonable cost. (Under dash air conditioner available on Ebay.) Registration has been current for many years.
The vehicle presents well with a 2-tone (close to original) Cimarron Green Poly. (It looks Blue or Green, depending on lighting conditions.) It is a nice paint job, not show quality. The car starts, shifts, drives, steers and stops as it should, (even better with the 72 power steering!)
What's been done since 2008:Engine with automatic transmission professionally installed.12 V conversion.New factoryrocker panels. No rust floor, wheel wells, frame.New battery and battery box.Grey leather upholstery (needs minor detailing of headliner edge, loose wind lace.)Body prep & paint with clear coat.Re-chromed both bumpers. (Bumper guards not mounted.)Stock Cadillac 3.07 ratio differential replaced.Rear U-joint replaced.Banks of custom 12V gauges, Oil P., Temp, Bat-Amp.Carburetor start solenoid.Transistor radio-tape deck in glove box.Rear shocks.New brakes.Set new Michelins.12 V heater fan.12 V wiper(s).12 V dimmer switch.12 V horn button added under dash.Inspection, suspension, bushing and bearings.
What to finish:Head lights intermittent. (12 V light switch provided, not installed.)Right front turn signal wire broken.Front parking lights, dome light, instruments lights not working.Gas gauge intermittent, (6 V voltage reducer provided, not installed.)Heater hose provided, not installed.2 original radio knobs missing (see picture.)Front bumper left bracket needs a hole drilled for alignment. It's loud, needs new mufflers.
Large boxes of parts come with the car, including tune up parts, door handles, tail light assemblies, glass, radio grille, mud flap, set of U-joints, spare differential (needs rear pinion bearing,) extra hood (local pick up,) specs and sources for OEM parts. This is a nice opportunity for someone who can do some finishing work to show pride of ownership. Check out uShip to list your transport bid. Subject to local sale.
