Description for Cadillac DeVille 1962
This is a 1962 Cadillac DeVille, four door, four window in good condition. The current odometer reading is 15,387 and the car has been garage kept. The VIN number is 62B052823, but the tag from the driver’s side door jamb is missing. The engine stamp remains and the title is clear. Added custom 6-way bucket seats and lap belts.
The vehicle condition has been rated a “4+” by an independent third party, and runs and drives without issues. Registered in Pennsylvania as a Historic Car.
Here are the comments from the independent third party evaluator.
Comments: Exterior body is in good condition with shiny white paint. The paint condition is a 6 out of 10 (with 10 being best). This car was originally white, was repainted dark blue many decades ago, then was repainted white again decades ago. The hood and the truck lid both have minor rust on the underside of the outward lip. The passenger door and rocker panel have had previous rust repair work, and the rocker panel currently has rust issues toward the front. While the frame and floors on the undercarriage is mostly solid with minor rust in places, there is smaller heavier rust issues in isolated areas, specifically on the floors on the passenger side toward the front and the driver’s side close to the rocker panel.
The majority of the black interior is in very good condition. The front seats are modern buckets custom installed with the driver’s side having an operational 6-way power seat. It also has custom lap belt seat belts installed. All of the windows operate quickly and smoothly, except the driver window does not go up intermediately. Most of the chrome and stainless trim is in good condition, with some minor pitting on the door handles and side mirror. All the rubber weather seals and door dew wipes are either original or older with cracking.
Engine runs and sounds normal, the fluids are very clean and appear to be well maintained. The engine rear main seal and transmission pan have signs of minor leaks, which is common for a vehicle this age. The exhaust did emit a very light amount of blue smoke (oil burn) during the first 5 minutes but cleared up after reaching full operating temperature. While the tires have 75% tread there are tiny hairline cracks developing in between the tread, and the DOT Date Codes are 2603 (2003) which means they are 15 years old and not safe for normal use.
