Description for Cadillac Eldorado 1957
SoCal Classic Car Storage in Laguna Hills, California is proud to present one of the finest examples of a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham that's as close to perfection as possible. On behalf of one of our clients, we're privileged to have the opportunity to represent the sale of this vehicle.Considered to be a rare opportunity, here's your chance to own one of 400, 4 door sedan's built by Cadillac in 1957. This highly sought after Brougham checks all the boxes for the classic car collector and is a 10 out of 10 throughout every aspect of the ground up restoration. Cadillac Eldorado Brougham..... the car that defined luxury in 1957. "A Limited Production Car for America's Most Demanding Motorist" was the caption for marketing brochures. Now if you're already familiar with this post-World War II Cadillac, you'll recognize it's lavish design features such as a brushed stainless steel roof, unique center-opening doors that lock automatically when the car is put in gear, and massive polished stainless steel skirts that cover the lower rear fenders to mention a few.
The fit and finish is what one would expect from a collectable car of this caliper. The body panels are laser straight, free of any rust, paint defects, paint shrinkage, dents, dings or visible signs of body filler. The black paint finish has a high luster and free from any fine scratches typically seen under fluorescent lighting. It's very evident thebody and paintreceived a concourse level refinish. All of the chrome plating and stainless trim have a concourse appearance as well. The brushed stainless roof on this Brougham appears the same as it did new in 1957 and free from any imperfections. The current owner has properly cared and preserved this car to the highest standards by storing it in a proper indoor, climate controlled storage facility with the added protection of a car cover, battery tender and only detailed by trained professionals.
As for it's opulent interior, it has air conditioning, front and rear compartment heating systems with under seat blowers, six way power driver's seat with "favorite position" memory, polarized sun visors that become darker when tilted downward, autronic eye, electric door locks, automatic antenna, automatic starter with restart function,a dashboard control to raise and lower the trunk lid electronically, front and rear center armrests, carpeted trunkand much, much more.
Not only does this numbers matching sedan still possess it's original minibar glove compartment accessories, but they are in absolute pristine condition (see photos). From the Fleetwood cigarette case, to the atomizer filled withArpege Extrait de Lanvin perfume, it's truly remarkable that they've remained sealed for 62 years. A closer look at the perfume bottle reveals it's unique seal attaching the glass bottle to the cap. Other fascinating items include an Evan's leather trimmed cosmetic case with two compartments. The front compartment contains a mirror, lipstick holder, powder puff and a place to hold a nickel for the parking meters back in the day. As for the adjacent compartment, well that was meant for loose cigarettes. Finally, the glove compartment has a fold-out shelf to support6 silver magnetic shot glasses. It's important to note the rarity, value and importance these items hold for an investment grade, collectable automobile such as this one.
Under the Brougham's reverse opening hood, you'll find a silky smooth 365 cubic-inch V-8 with two four barrel carburetors that produces 325 horsepower and it's power is fed through a four-speed hydramatic transmission. Theengine compartment'sattention to detail is evident with every nut, bolt and component either refinished or replaced to the highest standards. Note the batwing air cleaner as being intact and in pristine condition.
The current owner purchased this Brougham in 2014 and believed to be the third owner. At that time, the car was appraised by Classic Auto Appraisers at a Fair Market Value of $174,000.00. Copies available upon request.
The only known issues about this Brougham at this time are two items in which the new owner can address at his/her discretion. 1.) The drivers door will not remain open on it's own. Perhaps an issue with the door hinge. All other doors operate as they should. 2.) The round trim piece below the drivers headlamp needs to be re-attached (see photos). The trim piece is in the trunk.
