Description for Cadillac DeVille 1953
Don’t miss this chance to own one of the most coveted Caddies of the 50s. This beautiful all original Caddy has never undergone a major restoration. It has been repainted in the original color. The chrome is all original (never re-chromed). The interior was redone at some point. This is no trailer queen but it is in good shape. The engine starts easily and runs quite. The transmission shifts smoothly without slip. the brakes are firm and the body is rust-free. As is this Caddy is a fine Friday evening “Cruisin” classic or a Sunday afternoon touring car that will attract a lot of attention wherever you go. There is a video of the car created about 2 years ago by ScottieDTV that can be seen on YouTube at the following URL: This video was taken a couple years ago before the car was sold to the current owner. https://www. youtube. com/watch?v=bsqi9xSIDqU The current owner planned to completely rebuild and transform the car into a Resto Mod cruiser. The new owner commissioned a classic car shop in Alpharetta. Georgia (where the car is currently located) to do the work. Unfortunately during the early stages of disassemble the owner became ill so work was suspended. The car has subsequently been re-assembled and is back on the market. It is 2 years older now but still in good condition. During re-assembly any mechanics in need of attention were addressed such as the brakes which were rebuilt. The photo shots in this auction were taken recently since re-assembly was completed. This is a nice old driver as is or it can be a great “project”. You can see in the blog below the video on YouTube that there was significant interest in this car after it was sold. Don’t miss this chance to get a very special American classic. The owner is motivated so the reserve is set approximately $6k below what the owner paid for this car just 2 years ago.
