Description for Cadillac DeVille 1966
1966 Cadillac Deville convertibleDONT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN HAND. apparently some peoplewho use ebay arent smart enough to understand the rules. So if you have under 10 feedbacks. Ill be emailing you if you bid tomake sure you are legit. if we do please reply or we are forced to cancelyour bid. Up for Auction: SUPER LOW FAIR RESERVE !!! Series 62These cars are getting harder to find esp in this conditionthats still affordable to most buyers. This 66 Caddy convertible has aprox 102. 00 original miles. Az title shows Box A and history told to us by recent ownersconfirms the car was used often but never driven far. So being that its never been off the road for long periods. nbsp;it runs really well and fun to drive just the way it is. Thats not to say it doesnt need resto and repairs. but you cansimply drive it as is around town and fix it up as when you havethe extra time and money. Chances are. youve seen the movie Goodfellas or Casinowatch how many of these cars are used and driven by gentlemenwho had great taste. esp in cars. It was either a Lincoln or Caddy. Another good movie to see these cars in for the period is. A Bronx Tail. Car starts easily and choke works too. It really idles greatand engine is very smooth at idle and while you are cruisingit around. RESTORE it back to stock or do something along the restomodway. or rat rod and have an awesome 1 of a kind caryour friends only wished they had for such a low investment. This car has lived most of its life in either CA or AZ so luckily it has minimal rust thru-out. some of the chrome did get a littlebeat up from the CA air. but please check out all the pics below. DRIVETRAIN: the original motor runs and sounds good. The 370hp 429 V8 4v matted to the 2 spd auto. both run andfeel great. I do suspect a small fluid leak under the car somewhere because I can smell something when sitting at a light. But I cant see any smoke when driving. I even had a friend followme driving around a few miles the other night and they never saw any smoke coming from under the car or the exhaust. which isa good sign. All the AC stuff is still under the hood. but its not beencharged for several yrs. The carb was rebuilt a few yrs ago and the car does have stuff like PS and PB like you would expect froma Caddy. INTERIOR: originally this interior was black leather with lotsof chrome and stainless trim. Its really showing its age and willneed some restoration here. As is. Ive been driving it around night and day with no issues. even the am/fm factory radio works. The carpet is NEW. but thats about it. All the PWs work. but someof the switches need cleaning. Power top does work too. but thedr side ram or line has a small leak. The steering column inside feels like some bolts are loose because it moves more then itshould. Probably part of the tilt stuff inside. Its not horrible. butis noticeable and needs to be looked at too. The blinker switch inthe steering column also needs to be fixed. It seems very completeas least. so you shouldnt have to hunt down alot of parts. but its needs resto. Here is where I alot of the chrome trim has somepitting. EXTERIOR: Original color was Starlight Silver. an awesome color forthis car and should be taken back to that color. Back in the 80s beforeclear coat. the car was pained the blue you see now. Which is reallyfaded as you can see. The trunk lid was replaced yrs ago after a dentwas produced by a falling pole. It was just easier to bolt on a goodused lid back when they where readily available. The Convertible topisnt new. but the back window and top are in pretty nice shape for andwhere replaced about 8 yrs ago. Some minor trim pieces are missingand the chromes not as nice as it could be on the bumpers. but again for a driver. its fine. All the headlights and tails work fine. The dr side rear 1/4 had a small crease in it from backing it in tooclose to another car. hence the primer spot. SUSPENSION: all factory the best I can tell. although it would look greatlowered about 2" :) I do know that some bushings where replaced bythe previous owner in the last 5 yrs and it aligned fine. Some other partswhere close to needing replaced. but not totally worn yet. Again it did take an alignment which is a good sign. I think the shocks where also replaced with HD gas shocks. While driving around the suspension reallydoes feel solid and predictable. The steering wheel was off center a bitbut thats all I could report. 2 of the tires are pretty new. and the other2 are about 10 yrs old. Decent tread but getting a little dry rot. Its not a restored car by any means. but being as old as it is it may needsome more suspension work if checked out by a shop. I took some corners in this car like I do in my Subaru and was surprisedhow well this car handles for as huge as it is. Personally Id have no problemwith driving it as is everyday. Leave it stock or put some 22" wheels on it with some wide whites ?Check out ALL the pics below ----->it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have aslow connection. so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. There you have it. probably The BEST represented Converts on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad. hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for saleand even if you have to pay shipping to your area. it still beatspaying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these daysspeaks volumes. Also. if you buy a car thats been "restored". who knows what sortof surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs arefast. for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you knowexactly what you have in the end. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehiclesyoull never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !!Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. We show you as much feasibly possible via pics. Doing restoration on this type of project is less laborintensive which means overall cost is less too !With less horrid surprises later on. Dont let auctions with little to no pics try to fool you. With other auctions. you really dont know what to expect until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVERwith great pics to help making your decision easier. Along with ANY other questions you may have. Email me for a quote for shipping. ARIZONA TITLE IN HAND Keep in mind. this is not a restored car !!CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 days of auctionsEND ! we can no longer store cars for anyone !!Unless other arrangements have been made before auction ends.
