Description for Pontiac Firebird 1968
1968 Firebird Convertible. I purchased this car at an Estate Sale in Pennsylvania from a retired psychologist. She purchased the car in Missouri and had owned it since 1982. I purchased and will include with the car the history report from PHS services. The car was built June. 11. 1968 and left the factory Alpine Blue with Teal Interior and an Ivory White Top. As noticed by the VIN Number the car started out as Firebird Sprint Model with a OHC 6 Cyl 4 BBL. Other options included a Four Speed Manual Fully Synchronized Floor Shift . Push Button AM Radio. Door Edge Guards. eluxe Wheel Discs. Console. Floor Mat. Front and Rear. F70 X 14 White. Wide Oval Tires and a 3. 55 Rear End. The car currently houses Pontiac 400 Motor. Other than the motor and a 400 hood put on and the addition of Pontiac rally wheels. the car appears to be original. It has had a repaint and looks good in photos but the quality of the finish work is not show quality. There are some areas of discoloration. dirt and other imperfections. All of the panels line up well and appear to be factory. Some work has been done to the front lower quarters and lower front fenders. Nothing major. Floor and trunk pan are clean and rust free. The manual top is good and stain and tear free. All windows are good including the rear plastic. Bumpers are straight and rust free but the front has a couple of small holes for an unknown reason. All four tires and wheels match with good tread life left. The interior is nice and clean with fading only on the seat belts. I believe the door panels are original as the drivers side does show minimal wear and discoloration. Someone mounted a Pioneer radio on the front of the console and there are two small gauges mounted in the glove box. A Grant steering wheel was installed . the original blue wheel. door edge guards and a boot cover will remain with the car when it is sold. The car starts. runs. drives. steers and stops good. No smoke or leaks. Being owned by an older female would indicate a car that was well maintained and serviced. Her husband. also deceased. was a retired fireman from California. Their home and garage was well kept. This is not a "rare" ram air car or even a high output factory installed 400 edition Firebird. It is a very solid well preserved first edition example of GM's pony car that can be yours at auction. Buy it. drive it and enjoy it. As with any purchase I recommend potential buyers ( bidders) come and take a look at the car or have someone look it over for them. If your feedback is less than five do not bid with out contacting me first. I will cancel your bid. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and transporting costs. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of auction end and complete payment must be made before the car leaves. I don't sell cars for a living and don't need the hassle of immature bidders. The car is not listed locally or advertised for sale anywhere else and the auction will not end early. Good luck and happy bidding!
