1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible 40. 50 miles One Collector Owner Since NewScroll Down for Over 75 Photos Vehicle History This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible with 40. 50 actual miles has resided since new in the private collection of the late founder of the international frozen beverage company Slush Puppie Inc. headquartered in Cincinnati. Ohio. It was primarily used for parades and special company events. Note the vanity license plate: SLUSH1. This Cadillac was the first vehicle purchased especially for the collection. Mechanical The Eldorado carries the original 500 cubic-inch V8 (carbureted) and three-speed automatic transmission. It accelerates. stops. shifts and handles exactly how a 1976 Eldorado should. The Dunlop Sensor Radials feature a wide white sidewall (correct width for this car) and show minimal if any wear. There are no unusual noises. odors or warning indicators while under way. Body The Eldorado was repainted approximately 20 years ago in the original Crystal Blue Firemist color with correct white pin stripes and bright body side moldings. The white canvas top was replaced at that time and is 100% virgin. never exposed to the outdoors. and appears as new. The car has only been driven with the top stowed under the parade boot since its installation. There are a few minor flaws in body. as shown in the photos: a cluster of fine scratches on the hood; a paint bubble on the driver side rear fender above the body crease; a paint chip just above the trunk lid molding; minute debris in the paint above the passenger side rear wheel opening; minimal pitting on door handles. You’ll find close-up photos of these imperfections. Of course. they are only visible upon very close inspection. Interior The white leather interior is free of rips and stains. There is minimal wear on the driver side of the front bench as shown. The carpeting exhibits light fading around the door sills and driver footwell as shown. There are absolutely no cracks or fading on the dashboard. The chromed vent surrounds still shine brightly. The seatbelts were replaced during the repaint and still look like new. (The original front seatbelt anchor housings were removed due to age-related discoloration. but are included. ) The Eldorado features one-piece floor mats in the front and back. As shown. there is some cracking on the front door panel armrests and in the applique near the top of the steering wheel. Accessories The power locks. windows and seat work as they should. However. the window switches on the passenger door and in the rear do not activate the windows. All windows go up and down fine using the driver controls. so this is clearly just a switch issue. All lighters are present and working. There are no issues with the automatic climate control. cruise control or intermittent wipers. The sound system has one issue: the AM/FM slider bar is stuck in the AM position (the owner was never known to listen to FM radio). Otherwise. the system works as it should. Note that the right turn signal bulbs are burnt out (the handy lamp monitor told us this). The owner installed a battery “kill switch. which cuts off any and all battery current to the car. This feature helps keep the battery from “leaking” current during storage and depleting. The switch is located on the driver side floor and is fully concealed by the floor mat.
