Description for Chevrolet Impala 1962
Up for auction is a running & driving 1962 Chevrolet Impala convertible. You can drive this car as you are fixing it up. I bought this car from the original owner last month with intentions of doing a complete restoration on it. However. my situation has changed & I must now sell it. I will probably regret selling it. but life happens. I have the cancelled original Iowa title for the car as well as the dealer worksheet from when the Husband & Wife purchased the car. I also have a notepad of maintenance that was performed on the car through the years. I had driven the car only about 3-4 miles to my garage & out into the driveway for pictures. It drives well. The brakes work well & don't pull at all. The clutch is in good condition & doesn't slip. The 327 runs good & there aren't any abnormal noises coming from the car. The odometer reads 75290 miles & I was told by the original owner that it is correct. The tires on the car are radials with like new tread. The interior is okay to fair. The back seat is in good condition & the front seat material has come apart at the seams. The carpet is worn. Rear side panels are good & the door panels are in bad condition at the bottom. The dash is real nice with nice clean gauges & nice trim. The top looks to be in decent condition with no holes & the back window is still clear. The power top cylinders have been unbolted from the top frame quite a while ago because it operated good in one direction but not the other per the original owner. The top frame is in real good condition & operates smoothly by hand. The outside of the car has had body work done by the original owner using fiberglass & bondo on the lower quarters. The doors appear to not have any rust other than a little surface rust along the bottom but no rust through. The front fender on the driver side has had a small bit of rust repair but is very usable. The hood & trunk lid look good as do the front inner fenders & core support. The lower quarters. rockers & floors should be replaced to do it right. The trunk could probably be patched as the trunk-well is good. All the trim on the outside of the car is in really good shape. The only trim that has dings is on the trunk & the hockey stick by the drivers taillight. Almost all the pot metal trim is in really good driver quality condition also. The exception being the bright trim that runs between the taillights has some pitting. The drive-train consists of a 250 horsepower 327 engine with a 3-speed manual transmission shifted on the column. I checked the engine numbers & it is the original engine to the car & this was confirmed by the original owner. The exhaust was replaced quite a while ago but the car hasn't been driven hardly since & it still looks to be almost new. I have a reserve on this car but it is set low & I have no doubt it will be met early in the auction. I am NOT going to reveal my reserve or end the auction early. If you have a question about the car I will be more than happy to answer it. Give me a day to respond & keep in mind that if you ask at the very end you may not get a response in time. If you would like to discuss the car send me your phone number with a time range in which to call & I will call you back. The winning bidder will be required to pay a $500 deposit through PayPal within 72 hours from the end of the auction. The balance is to be paid in cash when you pick up the car. If you would like to pay by a personal or Cashier's check that is fine however you will need to send it to me. I will deposit it into my account & the funds must clear before you can come to get the car. This usually takes 7-10 business days so please keep that in mind if paying by means other than cash. Again. If you have cash I will sign the title over to you & you can take your car at that time. I would like to have the car picked up within a month from auctions end. It will be stored in my garage until it is picked up. I have 100% perfect feedback & plan on keeping it that way. I have sold a few cars here & have never had an issue. If you are the winning bidder I will make this transaction go as smoothly as I can on my end. Thanks for looking at my Impala & Happy Bidding!
