Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1979

I CAME FROM SCOTTSDALE TO NJ TO SELL MY MOTHER'S CAR. I HAVE AN EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF CORVETTES AND RESTORATION WHICH I'LL ADD TOMORROW. PICS TO COME TOMORROW. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE ONE OWNER CAR THAT WHOEVER BUYS IT WILL BE THRILLED. PLEASE ASK ME QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS CAR IF YOU'RE INTERESTED. On Dec-07-14 at 11:11:40 PST. seller added the following information: I am a professional car builder/restorer with over 30 years experience with 10 of them restoring Corvettes for NCRS and Bloomington. I've been a certified PPG Technician and Instructor for over 25 years. Some of my latest work can be seen at PATRICKMOTORSPORTS website under the Projects Page. I singlehandedly built the following cars from bare metal to assembly ready. including the fitting of all panels. grafting of fiberglass and carbon fiber panels to the chassis. All the bodywork. sanding. painting and buffing accomplished in a shop WITHOUT A SPRAY BOOTH! During that time 6 of the cars that were judged took best of class. 1973 911 RSR 3. 8 TWIN TURBO in Slate Grey that took the Best In Show Award this year at MontereyYellow 914-6 Super GBlue 73 911 RS right hand drive conversionORANGE 914-6 JAGERMEISTER TRIBUTE CAR that I had almost 600 hours in. I also built the 1956 Corvette seen on the MODSFORRODS website. My mother bought this car new. and in the late 80's brought it to the custom shop I was working where I straightened the body. filled and gapped the seams and then resprayed it the original color in lacquer and cleared it. The process of clearing took several weeks where 5 coats were applied. allowed to dry. sanded. allowed to dry. sanded. resprayed with an additional 5 coats and so on until the car had a total of 15 coats of clear on it. It was again sanded and left to off-gas for two weeks before it was buffed. Two weeks ago I resanded the car with 2000 grit and buffed it with 3M Perfect it II compound and 3M Machine Glaze with foam pads. The results are stunning. I know pictures don't do it justice. but look at the perfect reflection off the panels. There is no lacquer checking on this car whatsoever. This is a highly optioned car as follows: CODE 83 BLUE METALLIC PAINT CODE 122 OYSTER LEATHER INTERIOR CODE A31 POWER WINDOWS. CODE AU3 POWER DOOR LOCKS CODE CH9 REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER CODE C60 AIR CONDITIONING CODE D35 SPORT MIRRORS CODE K30 CRUISE CONTROL CODE M37 TILT/TELE STEERING CODE MX1 AUTO TRANS CODE N90 ALUMINUM WHEELSCODE UM2 8 TRACK PLAYER CODE U81 DUAL REAR SPEAKERS CODE U75 POWER ANTENNAE This car has the base L48 engine producing 195 hp and 285 ft lbs of torque compared to the L88 engine that produces 30 more horses. but 15 LESS ft lbs of torque. It also came from the factory with the wider Firestone GT Radials 265-60/R15. This beautiful car has always been garage kept. never seen the rain or snow. (except the other day when I was taking pics of it) and never smoked in. The original paper work is pictured as are some of the original paperwork. I recently did the following work on the car. Drained and changed the oil and filter. Drained the fuel tank. blew out the lines and added new fuel. Sent the carb out and had it professionally rebuilt including a new filter and base gasket. Replaced the hood insulation and the air cleaner ducts. Replaced a leaky EFE unit in thermostat. and a 4" long vacuum line coming off the back of the carb. The clock had stopped working so it was sent out and rebuilt to original specs. While I had it out I replaced the cluster lens because of small spider cracks in it. On Dec-07-14 at 11:47:23 PST. seller added the following information: Here are the things that have been replaced with non-reproduction parts. but to the best of my knowledge. they are all available:The EFE Sender. the 4" vacuum line. (no yellow tracer on line) the oil filter. the battery (Brand New Die Hard Gold w/warranty). All the replacement parts came from either Corvette Central. Ecklers. or Clocks by Roger. All the receipts and warranties will be included with car. As far as anything that detracts from the car. it will require a complete cleaning and detail. There are some very small chips in the passenger side door that have been touched up and one on the left quarter panel. I will include some PPG matched touch up paint. The undercarriage has chips typical of a 20. 00 mi car. I could not ascertain if the AC is blowing cold because it's 40 degrees here. but the compressor is working and the blower motor works. If you'd like to see the car IN PERSON. by all means contact me through EBAY. I believe this is one of the finest 1 owner low mileage non-Pace Car or Anniversary Edition Corvettes I've come across. On Dec-07-14 at 12:38:42 PST. seller added the following information:The T-Top storage bags are in mint condition. never used. I also replaced the hood latch crossover cable. Just found a bunch of maintenance receipts. Comes with a period correct Whistler 2 radar detector. On Dec-08-14 at 10:32:10 PST. seller added the following information:I din't know this but since there's already been a bid that met reserve on the car I cannot update the condition description section. I included the info in the ad under other sections and will update it when I get specific questions. Also for the same reason I cannot remove pics of the paperwork to post pics of the engine compartment which most people are asking for. I can however send you pics I took. so feel free to ask. I cannot get good pics of the undercarriage but here's a description of both it and the engine compartment. The engine and compartment need a good cleaning and detail to bring it to judging standards. Some components need to be repainted. There is some surface oxidation on non-plated parts but as with the undercarriage. there is no pitting. The undercarriage has some stone chips and wear that is typical of a 20. 00 mile car. There is some blue overspray on the undercarriage from when the car was repainted. I would estimate 40 hours of time for someone with basic knowledge of cars to be able to bring the car back to factory appearance. but that obviously does not include removal of major components such as the block and transmission. I did not have the car on a lift. but I did notice several of the chassis inspection paint marks still intact. I hope this helps answer some questions. AND I'M GLAD TO SAY THAT THE CAR HAS REACHED RESERVE SO IT WILL BE SOLD!DON'T MISS OUT. I'd like to add that in addition to doing work for The Corvette Center of Colorado Springs. Buster's School of Street Rods in Glendale. Arizona. Patrick Motorsports in Phoenix. Arizona. Mods for Rods in Fountain Hills. Arizona. and Indy Bodyworks in Speedway. Indianapolis. I also restored dozens of cars for the annual Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale. Arizona. This is one car that I am especially proud of the paint and bodywork. On Dec-08-14 at 11:29:29 PST. seller added the following information:I've had some questions about my low selling score. I've been buying and selling on ebay for over 10 years. Two years ago they instituted a policy that my ebay name couldn't be the same as my email address and forced me to change it. Upon doing so. they removed ALL my previous sales and rating. Although there are no guarantees or warrantees on this vehicle. my reputation throughout the restoration community and specifically my association with PPG holds me to a very high standard.
