Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1961
Hard to top the style of a bubbletop Chevy, specially in the classic combination of Ermine White over red. With a beautiful restoration, thumping 427 cubic inch V8 under the hood, nd those flashy wheels, his 1961 Chevrolet Bel Air is a rock star everywhere it goes. A tasteful resto-mod, f style with performance is your ambition, ew cars can match this one.I can assure you that the guys who finished the dramatic bodywork on this Imp knew their stuff, ecause the car looks even better in person than it does in photos. Every curve is gentle and unbroken, he flat panels are exceedingly smooth, nd every edge and corner is crisp and sharp, o someone took their time getting this one right. I'm sure there's another substantial chunk of time tied up in hanging all the sheetmetal, ecause gaps are excellent everywhere you look. And then there's the paint, hich isn't a custom mix but rather simple, lain Ermine White, hich comes right off the 1961 color pallet. Modern urethane paint looks so deep that you could fall in and drown, nd the ultra-clean look of the Bel Air is a dramatic contrast to the more chrome-laden Impala. Things like the virtually unobtainable front and rear windshields are in great shape, he trim was either re-chromed or polished, nd nobody will ever mistake this car for anything else on the road thanks to the iconic round taillights and dramatic V-shaped deck lid. Even better than all that gorgeous white paint is the dazzling bright red interior, hich is also this car's original choice. Nicely restored using period-correct patterns, t's both sporty and upscale. Pure 1960s cool covers every surface, rom the bright trim on the edges of the seat to the handsome steering wheel to the cantilevered instrument panel. All the original gauges are in place, ut they're joined by a set of Auto Meter auxiliary gauges and a column-mounted tach so the 427 is easy to monitor. A B&M shifter sits in the center, anaging the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission underneath and there's a newer AM/FM radio in the dash for entertainment. It's not real heavy on options, ut when even the base models look this good, here's really no need for a lot of other stuff. Even the trunk is spotless, ffering correct mats and a space-saver spare up on its own little shelf.Don't worry, here's of muscle under the hood, burly 427 cubic inch big block beautifully dressed with lots of shiny bits. It's fully rebuilt and offers things like an Eagle forged crank and I-beam rods, eith Black pistons, n Edelbrock intake manifold, nd a Mallory ignition system to light it up. You need big power? This car definitely delivers. Then there's the dual exhaust system that has a wonderful mellow sound and outlets just behind the rear wheels, s well as the quick-witted TH350 I mentioned earlier. You'll be delighted to see how clean the floors are, nd that looks like the original rear end out back, o it has highway-friendly gears for cruising. The suspension is pretty stock, o it rides and handles like it should, ven with the big block living up front, hich makes it ridiculously easy to make a quick getaway. Perhaps its most striking feature are those sparkling Centerline wheels, hich wear Goodyear radials up front and Mickey Thompson stickies out back. With more serious blasting powder behind it, his stunning Bel delivers in every way: looks, erformance, nd style.
