The Impala was assembled at the California plant and has the correct paint and interiors codes per the trim tag.From the show-quality white paint, owder coated frame, ew factory red and white interior, nd the 350c.i. engine, he convertible is a magnificent automobile that defines the word cool.
The fact that it looks like a custom is testament to both the designers' original vision and the quality of the restoration. Every panel was straightened and aligned, very surface was hand-sanded, nd several gallons of PPG Ermine White urethane were applied to give this car the look it has today. The depth of the finish is simply astounding. While white often hides details, n this Impala it seems to enhance.
The chrome and stainless trim on this car is perfect.The sweeping side trims with the red insert makes the paint look astounding. On the rear of the Impala is stainless trim that kicks up from the sweep panel and outlines the trunk opening. Those six round tail lights were an Impala trademark and the crossed-flag emblems represented performance since the Corvette debuted nearly a decade earlier. This car is also fitted with all-new glass, resh weather stripping, nd show-quality chrome.
The Chevrolet engine was completely rebuilt.It is a 1972 350 cubic inch four bolt main with a Holley four barrel carburetor, delbrock aluminum intake and dressed up with finned aluminum valve covers. The street-friendly camshaft ensures that it's easy to drive and doesn't get cranky during the low-speed cruises.Included are a new starter, EI distributor, lternator, nd power steering pump.There is a large Be-Cool aluminum radiator that keeps everything cool. A new aluminized dual exhaust system and mufflers completes the package.The paint work inside the engine bay was painted and detailed with factory correct finishes.
The transmission is a new rebuilt Power Glide with a new torque converter. The front suspension is all new to include ball joints, ie rods, ontrol arm, prings, nd sway bar bushings.New shocks and brakes all around.The original rear was fully rebuilt, ncluding new bearings and seals, nd hangs on a fully rebuilt suspension featuring new coil springs and new shocks. The frame and floors have been powder coated for durability.There is no sign of rust or damage anywhere on the undercarriage. The new brakes are power assisted with a new dual bowl master cylinder and booster.The finishing touch is a new set of G78/14 Coker Classic Wide Whitewalls on the stock power coated wheels with Impala hub caps.
The beautiful new original type red and white interior is stunning.The original working gauges remain in the dash.All complete new wiring harness was installed front to back.The Impala retains its beautiful iconic red and white original steering wheel.A new Custom Auto Sound USA-630 stereo radio with CD player is mounted high in the original location in the center of the dashboard with modern custom speaker’s front and rear.A rear antenna completes the package.The new original door panels with their silver inserts are also stunning.The new red salt and pepper carpet features the original nap and weave. The trunk has been finished as when new with spare wheel, ire, ack, ools and mats. The convertible has a new Hartz top, oot, nd weather stripping.
The cost this restoration was well into six-figures, nd it shows in every single component being as close to perfect as it can possibly be. The engine delivers impressive performance and it cruises effortlessly at high speeds.Convertible Impalas have always been highly-sought cars and this one makes it easy to understand why. They don't get much nicer than this.
