Description for Chevrolet Nova 1962

Beauty is in the touch of the beholder. But the saying is "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder".Both are true with this stunning 1962 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova 400 Convertible. Of course, e can see with our eyes, he classic purity of this first generation Nova II, owever, he owner whom I purchased this from in 2000 bought it from auction on the West Coast and was legally blind. Yes, e could not see... at least in the conventional way of sight, ut he had vision and a fine sense of touch. The previous owner bought this time capsule sight unseen, ut used his heightened sense of touch to envision the beauty that you can see in these images. This was not the first time he laid his hands on a car. He has been an honored judge at the prestigious Eyes on Design concours for many years. Together with a few other visually impaired judges, hey don white gloves and with the guidance of docents proceed to judge some of the worlds most beautiful and significant cars at this annual summer concours held in suburban Detroit every Father's Day.This 1962 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova convertible has its roots in Canada. It was born on January 9th in Oshawa, ntario. This is a super straight body with a pristine white automatic convertible top. The black vinyl interior is impeccable. The carpet and trunk are equally spotless. The engine bay houses a period correct 90 H.P. Super-Thrift 153 cubic inch 2.5L 4-cylinder mated to the 3-speed Power-glide transmission. This is a RARE vehicle as only 73 with the same model number were built in all of Canada! It is exceptional to find such an originally equipped Chevrolet Chevy II Nova. Most, f they survived, ave been scooped up and heavily modified. This car was repainted by a previous caretaker in the color you see here: The glossy, ich 1987 GMC Dark Garnet Red Metallic with clearcoat, ode: 77/WA9154. Because the vehicle was photographed on separate occasions I would seek out a color sample from a certified body shop for a true representation of the color. The original exterior color was Autumn Gold Metallic. The interior trim color was 766-Light & Dark Fawn & Ivory. Please keep in mind that this is a very detailed blemish list. Sans the small dent on the hood the rest could be addressed in an afternoon of care. There are a few minor blemishes on the exterior: 1. A ding on the left side of the hood. 2. A 6" scratch on the left front fender. 3. 3" scratch on the drivers side rear quarter panel. 4. Paint chip on the left fender above the headlight. 5. Scratch on the left quarter near the gas cap. 6. A 1" scratch on the left quarter near the flare above the tire and a 3" scuff on the lower. 7. Three 1" scratches on the deck lid. 8. Right quarter 1/2" scratch. 9. Left door edge has a few paint chips. 10. Right sill has 2 small nickel size areas of potential rust. The interior also has some minor imperfections: 1. The steering wheel has a paint chip. 2. The vinyl wrap on the right armrest comes untucked. 3. The left speaker grill in the backseat is dented. The chrome bumpers are nearly perfect and the stainless steel trim including the window frames, oldings and details are virtually pit-free. The wheel covers are not original to the car, s they are Chevy SS covers, ut are period correct.I am not mechanically inclined and can't speak about the overall mechanical condition from an underbody / engine standpoint, ut I can say that everything operates smoothly when driven. The mileage shown is 72,883. The battery is brand new. The tires have full tread. The underbody has visual surface rust that has migrated to the passenger side sill. This is very minor and could be expected from nearly any car 50+ years old.The interior is pristine with the addition of a Clarion DX515 Radio/CD player with a remote control. Two speakers have also been discreetly mounted near the back seat.As you can see by the photos, he engine and engine bay is presumed original with no unwanted mods. During my ownership, 've always had the car serviced by the high caliber team at the famous Vinsetta Garage on the legendary, istorical Woodward Avenue in suburban Detroit. Which also happens to be the first street on which a ticket was written for street racing on March 17, 895.I've owned this timeless Chevrolet Chevy II Nova almost 15 years and although it's in super condition, rives well and is reliable, would like to use the floor space of my garage for other ambitions. During my ownership, his Chevrolet Chevy II Nova has always been garaged and covered when not out on a leisurely cruise and has never seen inclement weather. I've been quite diligent about keeping this gem in pristine operating and visual condition. This is a car that is becoming more challenging to find in this near-original condition. It could be easily put on a rotisserie and brought back to it's original factory color and underbody condition, r simply bought as-is and enjoyed for many more years to come.
