Here is everything most Chevy truck collectors want. 1972 Cheyenne Super, hort-bed, 02 V-8, utomatic, actory A/C and even in the best color combination possible. The gentlemen who restored this truck lives 40 miles from me (I am a Ford dealer and car collector). He went over the top with the bed on this truck along with everything else—never seen a wooden bed done this well. Every metal panel is as slick as any concours restoration you will find. The labels and tags are perfect. The chrome is perfect. Even the 70’s fake wood grain is perfect. I don’t much like the fact that it was slightly lowered with shorter springs, or do I like the non-factory steering wheel (although it is easier to drive and I have the original). When you look in the places where the experts always look, here are no apologies to be made about this truck. And it drives as great as it looks. One key issue: The original VIN plate was lost in the restoration process (a damn stupid mistake). I matched the VIN numbers on the frame to the body and to the title and had the Tennessee Department of Revenue come and do the same. They certified the vehicle and installed their replacement VIN tag. Replacement VIN tags can be made, ut I am not a fan. I have proved that this is the genuine article by its VIN, ad it certified by the state and that should be enough for most purists. If you live close to Tennessee, ome see and drive the truck.
