Description for Chevrolet C-10 1982
I have owned this truck for about four years. Back in 2011 I was looking for a factory white Chevy Short bed to restore. I finally found this truck in Fresno California which has a rust free body. This is a "Valley" truck and was never exposed to corrosive elements causing rust so there was no need for new sheet metal, atch panels, tc. This truck was very straight to begin with but needed minimal body work, ew paint and a new interior. Since I was building the truck to keep it, had both the engine and transmission rebuilt as well. The truck has a 350 4 bolt main motor and a 700R4 transmission, ual tanks, old AC, actory radio, ower windows and locks. The truck came without cruise control as a factory installed option. I changed the factory Quadra jet Carb to an Edelbrock 1406 electric choke carburetor so it starts right up and runs great.
The truck had a dark charcoal interior but I changed it to light grey which included a new dash pad under the grey pad cover and all new Silverado trim pieces, new dash bezel, eadliner, arpet and seat. The interior looks great. Outside not only does it have new paint, ut all new window moldings, onneau cover and Silverado exterior trim. All of the Silverado stainless is in excellent condition. The truck was painted in 2012 without windows in it so there are no tape lines around the windows. The wheels were taken to the powder coater, ot just painted with excellent trim rings and caps and new tires. The truck is very "stock" and still has the stock exhaust which includes the original two-tip tail pipe. I changed the front bumper and grille to reflect the newer look of the 1985-up front end. This truck would look awesome lowered, ut has never been lowered nor has any suspension modifications.
While this truck is very good, t is not perfect. The truck once had aftermarket door speakers but I removed them but kept the factory rear speakers behind the seat and a front speaker in the center of the dash. The speaker holes remain, ut the new door lower carpet panels conceal them. The paint is good but is driver quality. The bed was removed so the front of the bed and the back of the cab could be painted as well. The inside of the bed and tailgate are in good shape with minimal dings. They were intentionally not painted to have Line-x installed. The A/C blows cold but the vents don't change from floor to defrost. Other than that, t is a great truck, ooks and drives like new and is very well done.
