Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1970
Split bumper rare RS/SS 1970 Camaro. Only 27,000 RS (Rally Sports) produced, nd only 15,000 SS (Super Sport) produced, he RS/SS was even more rare (guessing maybe 10% of the SS's made had the RS too, o say about only 1500 RS/SS's produced) . Speedometer goes to 160mph and it would do it. 4 barrel carb, ual exhaust, 50 turbo glide automatic transmission, riginally rated at 300 HP (measured at the wheels back in 1970). I believe this was the biggest (about 15 feet, inches long) and heaviest (about 3100 lbs) Camaro ever made. I still remember how fast and responsive this car was to drive. If I was still in my 20's, would keep it, o doubt. Second Owner: Purchased vehicle 40 years ago from original owner, ar is 45 years old. Placed in Storage Locker 15 years ago and never re-opened it until now. The car was running at the time and was driven into the locker. Had planned to restore it at some point but never did. Ready for the winning bidder to take over the job. Ran when placed into storage locker, oesn't run now after 15 years sitting unused. Paint: Needs repainting; Purchased: 40 years ago (second owner); Storage: placed in storage locker 15 years ago, oved out of state, ever opened until now; Tires: must be replaced; Keys: mis-placed, oors unlocked, eeds re-keying; Windows are very dirty from storage as seen in pictures; one area of rust as seen in pictures at the back that was there when first placed into storage; no other areas noticed when inspected. All original except engine replaced in 1985, xpect that it will need to be replaced again. Last Registered and used in 1994, 994 plates still attached, at unregistered and unused from 1994 to 2000 but was kept in running condition; Wheels: Aluminum Wheels as shown in pictures; Warranty: None remaining, one offered, old as-is, here-is. Accidents: None, ever wrecked; Summary: Needs complete restoration but offers a sound starting point for this true classic. Winning Bidder Must Pay for Pick-up vehicle within 7 days and pay all loading and shipping related costs.
