Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1957
Two owner survivor
1957 Chevrolet 210 2 door
For sale 1957 Chevrolet 210 2 door sedan, 83 V-8, ast iron power glide automatic, ith its original generator. I bought this car from the estate of the original owner June, 006. The original owner was a school teacher named Arlene Walker, he was never married, nd she lived 2 blocks from the school where she taught. I watched this car in my home town my whole life and always wanted to own it. Unfortunately Miss Walker passed away in June of 2006, nd I bought the car from her estate. Now do to my divorce I must sell my dream car.
I had all the original documentation for the car including the original invoice....but my ex destroyed it all.
When I bought the car it had 74,106 miles on it, ow 9 years later it only has 79,500 on it.
The car is 99.5% original right down to the original radiator hoses. The battery, ater pump, nd heater hoses had been changed before I bought the car; I changed the carburetor, uel pump, nd replaced the vacuum wiper motor with an electric one. I have all the old original parts still.
The car was always serviced at Jacobson's Chevron in Longview, A. When I talked to the owner he stated they had to go and jump start the car twice a month for the last 2 years of miss walkers life because she would flood the car out and run the battery dead. But he said she kept the oil changed religiously. He also stated they washed the car once for her since she was such a loyal customer, nd she became very upset and told them if they ever washed it again she'd take her business elsewhere.
I don't think she liked the attention the car got when it was shined up.
Miss Walker kept the car in her very small one car garage and she scraped the R-side door on her garage door.
I buffed the paint and replaced the ugly 195/70/14 tires with the proper 7.50/14 wide white bias-ply Firestone tires.
The original invoice stated that the car came as a 210 2 door, ith a 283 V-8, ower-glide automatic transmission, tone black and white paint, anual radio, nd wide white wall tires.
The interior is all original with rubber floor covering, he back seat is perfect, ut the front seat bottom is torn.
There are scratches and some minor rust starting to show, ut the paint, ody and all trim is 100% original to the car as far as I and everyone that has known or looked at the car can tell.
This is an un-restored survivor car, ot a 100 point restoration. But these cars are only original once and cars like this don't come along very often.
I doubt I or anyone else will ever find another true 1 owner, urvivor 1957 Chevrolet 2 door V-8 car with less than 100,000 miles and all of its original paint again. This is truly a once in a lifetime find.
My reserve is not cheap, s I paid a lot to own this car, very gear-head in the state wanted this car, ome wanted to hot rod it others wanted to restore it. I wanted to preserve it, hey are only original once, nd this car is a true original survivor. I'm a Hot Rod guy and have built many cars.....but I could not ever bring myself to change anything about this car.
Again the car is un-restored and has a few scratches and scrapes, he paint is thin in a few spots and it has some rust starting on both rear ΒΌ panels in front of the rear wheel wells, he engine has not been detailed and is dirty and it smokes a little from time to time. But it runs and drives great, he transmission shifts great; it does not knock or make any odd noises. This is a true survivor car not a newly restored car.
1 Owner 1957Chevrolet 210
While visiting family in Nebraska, June 1957), iss Arlene Walkers' 1949 Olds broke down so she bought this 1957 Chevrolet 210 2door for her trip home to Longview, Washington. Arlene was a elementary school teacher, he taught at Kessler elementary school, he lived just 2 blocks from the school from 1957 until she passed in 2007, he never married. She always kept the 57 in a small garage (as evident by the scrapes), elow her apartment, he only drove it 74,000 miles in the 50 years that she owned it, s she walked to work and to local stores most of the time. The car was always serviced at Jacobson Chevron and she kept every receipt from 1957 until 2007, s well as the check stub that she paid for it with, nd the original window sticker.
When the car was bought new it had the following options, 10 trim, tone paint, 83 V-8, uto trans, anual AM radio, nd Wide White Wall Tires.
The car has never had any paint or body work, he only things changed were the water pump, arburetor, uel pump, attery, nd tires, verything else on the car is original, ncluding the radiator hoses.
My plan is to keep the car as original as possible, nd honor the wishes and memory of Arlene Walker, nd preserve this piece of automotive history.
As this and all old cars prove- We are not owners, ut custodians/caretakers of these cars.
What is pictured on the car and what is listed is all that is included with the car.
Please ask any questions before you bid or buy.
Good luck and thank you for looking at my item.
Please check my other auctions often as I'm cleaning out my shop with 30+ years of accumulation. I will also be selling more cars and project cars.
Due to the fact that this is a 58+ year old used car and I cannot control how it will be used by the new owner there is no warranty or returns. This car is sold as-is. What is listed and what you see on the car in the pictures is what you get.
I will need a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit within 5 days of sale, nd then balance must be paid in full within 10 days of end of auction. If not paid within 10 days this car will be re-listed and deposit not returned. (I will work with you if there is a good excuse, ut I will not lower price). I will not charge storage on this car, f this car is paid for it can be stored at my house for awhile (1 or 2 months, ot a year) until shipping is arranged.
I will not arrange shipping for the car that is up to you the buyer but I will work with you and your shipper in any way I can.
