Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1969
If you're going to dream, ream big. Clearly someone wanted to build the ultimate '69 Camaro, nd pulled out all the stops to create this stunning resto-mod SS. With a thundering big block under the hood, igh-impact bodywork, nd a gorgeous houndstooth interior, his is the Camaro we all wish we owned.Seriously, f you could have a vintage Camaro built any way you wanted, sn't this pretty much what you'd wish for? The bodywork is in good shape and there's no mistaking that fantastic 1969 Camaro profile. The searing red paint isn't this car's original color (that would be code 71 Lemans Blue), ut who can argue with the results? A cowl-induction hood, ucktail spoiler, nd black Z/28 stripes make it look predatory, nd you'll note that the front fenders wear '454' emblems that weren't installed by accident. There were no liberties taken with the Camaro's classic shape, nd it offers a few optional upgrades like the gill inserts and polished wheel well moldings, oth of which do a lot to really dress things up. It's not a perfect car, ut when it's hammering down the highway everyone will want to be the guy behind the wheel, nd from that vantage point, his car is nothing but exciting. From behind the wheel, here's no way to tell that this isn't a beautifully restored, tock Camaro. The houndstooth interior always looks elegant and sporty, nd the workmanship is excellent throughout. A center console features a horseshoe shifter for the sturdy TH400 3-speed automatic transmission underneath and auxiliary gauges hang in the usual location. That sporty Grant GT steering wheel is a clever update of the original with a slightly fatter rim that's also smaller in diameter, nd there's a big Sunpro tach strapped to the steering column where it can do the most good. The stereo system is a simple AM/FM/cassette head unit, ut like many of the muscle cars we feature, he best music comes from under the hood and this car definitely fits the bill. It also offers a clean, ell-finished trunk with spatter paint for a very authentic look.Spectacular is one word for the mammoth 454 cubic inch big block under the hood. The build takes no prisoners, nd the built big block is fitted with a bunch of go-fast parts and absolutely nothing to slow it down. It's also remarkably docile and easy to manage in real-world traffic thanks to an Edelbrock intake and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. An MSD ignition system lights it all up and a set of Hooker long-tube headers use a set of Flowmaster mufflers to handle the exhaust. Beautifully dressed in aluminum valve covers and an open-element air cleaner, t neatly straddles the line between street and race and excels at both. Traction bars on the monoleaf springs out back do their best to plant the power coming from a beefy 12-bolt rear end with chrome cover. Polished Torque Thrust style wheels are a classic look, ut this one wears modern-sized 235/45/17 front and 255/45/18 rear performance radials for a more hardcore look.
