Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1980
Beautiful Yellow 1980 Corvette! This one is a head turner! Here are some details about this wonderful car...
My father-in-law and I restored this in 2008. The car ran OK when we got it, ut the interior and paint were in horrific shape. We had it painted, nd we replaced all interior. The seat foam was in perfect condition, o we simply recovered them in black leather. We put all new carpet in. The paint job is incredible, nd it was an $8000 expense. We spend around $1500 on the interior. The T-Tops are painted to match the car.
We replaced the center instrumentgauge/radio panel as the previous owner had modified it for a non-stock radio. We put in a Custom Audio Sound USA-1 radio.
This car has AC and was converted to R134. Along the way, e've done quite a bit of fixes and updates, ncluding a new gas tank, ront-end work, ew main AC hose and oil andtransmission leaks. All in all, he car is in great mechanical shape. It always starts, t runs well, nd despite the late 70s/early 80s Corvettes being lower horsepower, t has quite a bit of spunk!
Power windows work.
We believe the car has 74,500 original miles, hough we can't verify that.
Title is clean and there is no lien.
So why am I selling? Honestly, want to keep it. However, ur family needs a truck. So the Vette and my everyday driver (an Infiniti SUV) are being sold so I can buy a truck and pay cash.
As with any classic car, his one needs a few things here and there... Here are all the known issues:
- Passenger-side headlight is slow to raise. Probably needs a new actuator.
- Carburetor is brand new (Holley), ut whoever put it on tighten screw for air filter to tight, nd the screw fits loosely. Not worth fixing, n my opinion. But I wanted you to know about it.
- Trim on back glass is loose in one spot. Just needs a new clip... nothing wrong with existing trim.
- Clock doesn't work in instrument panel (as is the case with most C3 Vettes)
- Power Door locks don't work consistently.
- Air Vents are modified to blow out through the top (notdefrost or floor). I believe this is due to one hard to reach vacuum line. The rest of the vacuum lines have been changed (brand new hoses).
- Signal lights work, ut don't display in the dash. Probably needs new bulbs. I'm too lazy to change them since they do work on the outside of the car!
- Someone swiped the front drivers side of the car (you can see this in the pics). Actually, think the pics make it look worse than it actually is. It's not something most people notice, nd I honestly wouldn't fix it. But I think it can simply be repainted.
