Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1969
1969 Chevelle SS 396
In the world of clones, ributes and out and out fakes a Chevelle SS with documentation is worth a whole lot more than one without! Canadian documentation is the best of all since it can be verified through GM and its on the trim tag!
This car was ordered Lemans Blue, lack bench seat, speed and 4.10 posi rear end. Nice combo.
The cars current engine is a 427 390 HP with a suffix of LG- the heads are 215 which are correct for this engine. The engine does start right up and hold an idle but I would not call it fresh. The trans is a 400 turbo. The rear end is a 12 bolt but not the original.
The body is decent but will need a trunk pan and quarters. The rockers and frame appear real good. The floors have patches and will need attention. You will be using a welder on this car.
The interior needs redone. The front seats are from something else and the back seat top has been modified for a roll bar at one time.
The car runs well enough to put on and off a trailer. Knowing that a build sheet can easily add 4 to 5K to the value off the car I have set a 9K reserve which is a bargain, reserve the right to end the auction at anytime for $10750. Even if the buy it now is gone because the reserve has been reached. Please call 765 206 0350 with questions. BIN price includes delivery anywhere in the state of Indiana. If you pick up the car deduct $250
On Sep-16-15 at 17:13:13 PDT, eller added the following information:Notice it has been brought to my attention that the car is originally a post car. The vin is not 136 which is hardtop. I found a picture of what this should look like I believe. I am going to post it. There was only 36 of these cars built-I believe this means in Canada. I have been told this is the only year that a SS could be ordered on a post car and this actually makes it more desirable. It would appear as if some has changed the doors. Any other input is welcome as I was caught unaware.
On Sep-16-15 at 20:53:17 PDT, eller added the following information:ok, have been advised that this car is not a post car but a 300 coupe. That is why I could not find any signs of post removal. The only thing from keeping the car from going down the road is very very soft brakes. I am going to be busy the next couple days but will make a youtube vid of it running/ Thanks steve

This is not a 300 Deluxe post car. It is a 300 Deluxe 2 dr sport coupe. 300 Deluxe model cars came as either a 2 dr post or 2 dr sport coupe. 1969 was the only yr you could get the SS package on the 300 Deluxe model trim package. The 300 Deluxe trim level was the bare bones base package which meant next to no option which translates to low weight and go fast. The majority of these cars were ordered to drag race!!!
Dear kevinf1569,
Ok we are getting somewhere. I looked at the body and it did appear that nothing was cut out. So that makes since. I am going to post your response. This car was drag raced, o question about it. It was ordered with a 410 posi. Thanks so much it sheds a little light on the car.
