This a very nice driver quality 1969 Chevy Camaro. This year some say is the best Camaro every built. This Camaro handles and drives so well youwould think it was a late model car. Everything is very tight on this car and is a real pleasure. Yea, t could use a bigger motor, ut I don't see the point on this car. It maintains that original factory feel and lookthat Ithink are missing in most cars today. This car is not a speed demon and does not have a loud exhaust. The radio and speakers allow you to listen but not your neighbors.
Matching NumbersThis seems to be a matching numbers car. It came from the factory as you see it based on the cowl tag.Ralley Green with a black vinyl roof and black interior. The date code on the engine seems correct and the vin ison the transmission.
EngineThis car retains its 5.0 Liter 307 CI Engine. It starts and runs excellent with no knocking or noises. It has a 2 barrel carb that I just rebuilt. A pretty easy task. As you can see theengine compartment was kept to show that original look. The Air Conditioner works great and an has R12 refrigerant just like it was from the factory. It has new AC Delco Platinum Plugs and new wires. Mechanically this thing is great. Not a power house but a reliabledaily driver that would go anywhere and get pretty good gas mileage.
BrakesI put a new Delco booster on recently sincethe old one was leaking. This car has drum brakes on all 4 corners, ut stops incredibly well. Youwould never know it did not have disc.
Transmission3 speed Powerglide with console hose shoe shifter that is original to the car. It shifts well and there is no noise from the original differential.
InteriorThe interior look like most of it is original and in great condition. The carpet looks new and it has OEM style floor mats that I added. All the gauges work well. The horn, he aftermarket 2 post radio, indshield wipers, ll the lights including theinterior ones all work. It is just a well kept interior. The headliner has acouple of tears but since it is original, would not replace it. Dash pad is in good shape. Seats you can tell has the originalcovers and seat pads. All the factory seat belts are there as well. Theoriginal spare, ack and trunk liner are still with the car.
ExteriorThis carstill shows its OEM paint color. In the past it has had one re-spray that is decent but not perfect. There is one chipin the hood, ne fades spot on the hood, nd one place where youthere is some slight peeling showing thefactory color below.This car probably has somebond in the doors and quarters. I think all the sheet metal is original. The floor pans and trunk pan is very solid but not perfect. All the trim is there from the factory and in good shape. The chrome is in good original shape but notshow quality. Someonedecided to put 350 badges on the car instead of 307 factory ones.
GlassAll theglass is in good condition through out the car. There is one crank in the back that is missing a knob. The rest areoriginal.
Tires and WheelsThis car has very rare SS rally wheels that were only put on 1969 Camaros in Jan of 1969 - they only put them on at the factory for one month. They could be from aChevelle, ut I think they are original to the carsince this was aralley green paint and all the extras added to the base Camaro. The car has brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires 235-60 R14. A great car needs great tires.
