Description for Chevrolet Blazer 1986
1986 Chevy M1009, UCV. I drove this truck for the last year and now I'm switching over to my pick-up for workand won't be using this much anymore. It's plated until the end of September and very reliable. If you're not familiar with CUCV's, hen check them out, his is almost completely stock. It has the mount for a plow still attached to the front end(blade, ump, nd controller were removed and sold), ut it never got in my way. If you were going 4 wheeling then you wouldwantto remove it, ut for now the plow remains an option. The 4wd drive works great, as locking hubs, only used it to get over ice, ever off road.Cold starts take longer, ut it always starts. I've read theseare decommissioned around 40k,60k, r80k. This has 68k on the odometer, nd ifthe odometerhad turned over I think it would be in far worse shape. It was a Missouri National Guard Vehicle, ndbefore the previous owner it was supposedly a surveillance vehicle for a police department in Southern Illinois. The previous owner told me he plowed his1/4 mile stretch of roadon his farm a few times ayear, nd that's all he used it for, o salt.I drive it at least three time a week for varying distances. Suggested top speed is only 55, utit easily goes 65-70 and I never felt like I was pushing it hard at those speeds, ndwith bigger tires and some other adjustments these vehicles can get great miles per gallon and higher top speeds. I didthe last three oil changes, ext one due soon. Never driven under a quarterof a tank of diesel, nd always driven with care. Could make a great, urn-key,first truck, r it could be built up to anything. Add a turbo, wap a cummins, ift it, dd a PTO, onnect the slave receptacle to a battery bank, dd a snorkel, get themilitary trailer and create the ultimate camping, unting, bug out, nd off-grid vehicle.Go anywhere for long periods of time.
