Description for Chevrolet C-10 1967
For auction is my 1967 C10 long bed pickup with a 292ci straight six engine. I have had this truck for 6 years, purchased it from the original owners in Knoxville Tennessee (it was a milk and egg delivery truck).I got it from the original owner who ordered it direct from Detroit, I thru his Atwood Pontiac-Chevrolet Dealership in Lenoir City, n. They had the engine and tranny rebuilt sometime in 2007 0r 2008. I was told that the odometer is correct at 47,000 + miles, ut I cannot verify it other than the truck runs very very well and is solid. Thiswas to be a father and son project with the help of a professional mechanic from Arrow Automotive here in Flint Michigan. Now my son's job has moved him to Alabama and I just had heart surgery so I have decided to sell it. It was in good shape when we got it, ut since I was going to keep it (or my son), began the process of making it top notch. Body wise; I had rockers and cab corners replaced by my body guy buddy (even in the south these rust due to mud accumulation). I didn't like the way the front clip fit so I sourced a hood, ront fenders, ront grill, adiator support and cowl from a classic salvage yard in Texas. I replaced theinner fenders with after market units. I put a new after market chrome front fender on it, was told it was USA made, t is a very heavy gage unit. I replaced the motor mounts with original units found on ebay, he carburetor was rebuilt by Arrow Automotive, new water pump, ound and installed anoriginal power steering pump and brackets (pretty rare parts) it steers extremely easy. I put in a new 3-row radiator ($450) and then replaced all belts and hoses. It has a new heavy duty battery with new cables, gnition changed from points to electronic and a new ignition switch installed, New headlights & tail lights and probably about 80% of all wiring has been replaced. New heater core and blower motor. I was able to find a new NOS dash pad that bolted on, OT just a plastic dash cap cover. New full-floor rubber interior floor cover, new speedo cable, nd all dash lights replaced with brighter than the original ones. Rear glass replaced with new piece ('67 was last year for the small rear glass), ll other glass is original and in good shape (no chips or cracks). The windshield has a little of that milky haze around the edges, ut it isn't bad at all, oesn't interfere with vision at all. All glass, oor hood and cowling replaced with new rubber weather seal. All four tires new (less than 100 miles) they are Goodyear Wilderness tires. Brand new clutch replaced with all new bushings in clutch linkages. Original wooden bed replaced with new 2"x6" pressure treated wood. I used one-step Nason brand acrylic enamel paint to paint it (Chevy orange), ith my body guy looking over my shoulder, ooks great. Exhaust system: new from exhaust manifold to tail pipe, had the exhaust pipe custom bent to match the original style. New door hinges, nd outside door handles. Purchased an original remanufactured GM am radio, ts installed but not hooked up yet (also comes with a new '67 antenna). The 292 (4.0) engine runs great, s I mentioned, was told when I bought it that was rebuilt and it sureruns like it..very smooth and brisk acceleration. There are no leaks, se of or burning of oil. The trailing links and frame are free of rust. The right blinker works fine, ut doesn't self cancel after turning, ince I put a new blinker unit in the steering column, must have not got it positioned right. The right blinker cancels out just fine. The one thing that I didn't get to was the brakes. They work just fine, ut there is a slow fluid leak that I believe is at the brake shoe piston as there is no leakage at the master cylinder. I top of the brake fluid about once a month so it is a slow leak. Other then those two items it runs and operates exceptionally well. I am starting the bidding at $4,500.00 with the reserve just a bit over this. Winner is to pay a $500.00 deposit within 48 hours and the balance within 7 days. I have described this truck to the best of my ability and accurately, t is however 48 years old so there is no warranty expressed or implied. I have clear title to this truck (and a copy of the original Tenessee title). Purchaser is responsible for the shipping costs if any. Anyone would be very happy with this truck! Thanks for looking.
