Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1972
This is my 1972 Corvette coupe LS5 454 4 speed numbers matching driver/project car that needs finishing and I have most if not all of the parts to complete. I purchased this car in 2001 as a project and in 2005 had the body completely stripped of all paint and had it repainted its original color Elkart green as it had been repainted Mille Miglia red at some point in its life by a previous owner. The hood is a copy of an original Baldwin Motion style hood, n original big block hood with a 67 stinger style scoop added on. There are some minor scratches and stone chips in the paint now but it shows very well as a "20 footer" The original chrome is in good driver condition with some slight rust and pitting on the lower front pieces. Corvette script and flag emblems were replaced new in 2005. The carpet, oor panels, eather seat covers and deluxe door inserts were also replaced in 2005, here is some wear to the drivers seat along the edge from getting in and out. The interior needs to be finished putting back together and I have the parts to do so including some new. Headlight assemblies are rebuilt and I have a new in the box vacuum hose kit that needs to be installed. I just had the engine rebuilt 50 miles ago, t has been bored 30 over with new speed pro hyperutectic pistons and has a compression ratio of 9.5 to 1 and runs great on pump premium, also had the heads recut for larger valves 2.19 intake and 1.88 exhaust, nd it has a ZZ502 roller cam installed and it has a very nice sounding idle and plenty of power although the stock intake and exhaust do not let it make the power it should. A good intake and headers would really wake it up. The carb is not original and should be rebuilt as it sat for a long time because I had a holley on it before. The air conditiong is not installed but I believe I have all of the parts although the compressor will need to be rebuilt and some of the ductwork needs to be reinstalled in the interior that was removed when the body was sent out to be media blasted of its paint prior to being repainted. Late in 2005 I went through a very costly and lenghty divorce and lost interest in the car and it has pretty much just sat in the garage, only put 3000 miles on it since 2005 and just never had the desire to finish it. Due to some changes in life including a grandson I have decided to sell it now. I am selling this car as is and as described without a reserve due to the fact that it is an unfinished project so please bid accordingly as the high bidder will own it. I have way way more invested in this car than the opening bid price but need the money to help finance a small hobby farm for my upcoming retirement in a few years so I can spend some quality time there with my grandson just like I did on my grandpas farm. Thanks and good luck bidding.
