88 Chevy Crew Cab Dually Cummins Diesel Swap5 Speed Manual Getrag 360 transBagged/AirrideVery well built solid truckOffered for sale by Smittys Speed Shop and Used CarsLocated in Morganton, C
Very solid truck. Originally a Texas truck. Started as a stock truck with a big block and was heavily built from there. The front suspension has tubular a arms and 8 '' slam bags. The bags are new as well as the shocks.Has a front sway bar too. It will lay the crossmember on the ground when the truck is aired outThe rear of the chassis is c notched and boxed. Very beefy 4 link setup as well as a beefy gooseneck hitch. It also has a nice regular tag along trailer hitch too. The truck is wired with a brake box too for electric trailer brakes.Has Huge firestone bags in the rear that are new. The kind like you see on the back of big rigs. It also has a rear sway bar as well as rear shocks. The engine is a Cummins 6bt with the P pump from a second gen cummins that had 150k at the time of the install. I have put around 3k on the truck since the engine was installed. The engine got new oil pan gasket, ront and rear main seals as well as KDP fixed and a new timing cover gasket. New water pump, ew valve cover gaskets, xhaust manifold gaskets etc. The flywheel was resurfaced and A new clutch pressure plate and throwout bearing were installed. New slave cylinder and clutch master too. The truck was an automatic truck before the cummins was put in. The engine is pretty much stock except for the fuel plate was cut to a zero and the star wheel was turned a bit. The exhaust is 3'' straight out the back dumping before the rear end. The truck has a York engine driven compressor for the air ride system. Two 5 gallon tanks are mounted in the back. Digital gauges inside for the air pressure readings. It also has a air chuck mounted in the rear bumper so you can hook an air hose in and use it to run a impact or air tires up etc.The truck has heat and a/c. The heat is hooked up and working but the A/C is not. The only thing left to do is mount the condensor and hook up the A/C lines. The A/C compressor is already mounted and in place. The A/C worked before the time of the engine swap. Wouldn't take but a days work to get it going again. The interior was burgundy at the time I purchased the truck. The truck was originally black. I dyed all the panels black and had both front and rear seats recovered in rolled and pleated black vinyl. The only thing really lacking on the interior is carpet or a rubber work mat and it needs the headliner replaced. The outside of the truck is really straight. One small dent on the roof of the truck. Hardly noticeable and the rear fender has a small rust bubble right above it on the drivers side. There is also a small bubble above the windshield rubber on the front glass. Other than that the body is almost perfect. No rust in the floorboards or rockers or anywhere else. I have been all over the truck and under it etc. The chassis and underneath of the truck was all painted with POR-15 at the time of the engine swap. It has Hot rod Flatz blue on it. It looks ok but was done quite a few years ago. Some is actually coming off the hood in a few spots. I had planned to repaint it this winter if I dont sell it. The truck gets great fuel mileage and runs and drives and rides great. I have driven it on several 3 hour trips to shows. I would really like to trade the truck for a newer crew cab diesel Like a duramax or Cummins. Not really into ones that are lifted way up etc. Also 07 up crew cab silverados. Will give most anything a look but not wanting motorcycles boats or campers. Pre 72 hot rods would be of interest as well. Maybe a nice rollback or possibly a skid steer. I have a nice 2 car gooseneck trailer that I just completely rebuilt with new lights bearings tires brakes and all I will let go with the truck for the right trade or cash price. Thanks and any other questions just ask. You can also call or text for more info or send trade pics and info to 828-217-2546 ThanksThis truck is sold as is where is no warranty written or implied. Please only bid on the truck if you have the funds in place to buy it. Also make sure if you need to ask for permission to buy it you do so before you bid not after. Also for got to add that the power windows all work. The passenger front door is a little sluggish. It could use a new window motor really. The power door locks need new actuators I assume. The passenger rear door has bee done suicide. The driver rear door has not been done yet. I have the kit to do the driver rear door that will come with the truck.
