(Builder Provided Info) Details on the 1952 Chevy 3100 X-CAB:

Four hundred and twenty-five horsepower. Five hundred foot pounds of
torque, est speed of 104 mph, nd best quarter-mile 13.87 seconds. We
could be talking about a street machine. But actually, e're talking
about a '52 Chevy pickup. Though it was not designed to
race, ut it does bring home trophies. The truck has recieved
Best of Show and Best Truck trophiesthat is.

And why not? This truck is really something to look at with its PPG
Canary Yellow and House of Kolor Purple Passion Pearl paint catching
your eye, nd the fine craftsmanship done on the body of this extended
cab truck keeping it there. It makes you think to yourself, Did Chevy
build an extended cab in 1952?" Well, o they didn't.
The cab of this truck was cut right behind the door and 23 inches were
added to make it into an extended cab. Other modifications you'll
notice upon closer inspection are a 3-inch top chop, pancaked hood,
and filled seams. It also sports frenched headlights, haved door
handles, barn door-style tailgate, n ash wood bed, 39 Ford
taillights, nd the custom-made Bow Tie prominently displayed on the
tailgate. That is just on the outside, lot more went into this truck
than is immediately apparent.
Under the hood the power resides to move all this fine-looking metal
along-a small-block Chevy bored to 406 cubes. Other goodies include a
Holley hydraulic cam, 50-cfm carb, olished intake manifold, nd
System Max cylinder heads. Finishing off the mix are Hooker block
hugger headers, 3-inch exhaust system, nd a pair of Dynomax
stainless mufflers. Transferring the power to the wheels is a Turbo
400 equipped with a 2,500-rpm-stall B&M torque converter.
Under the truck the frame was boxed, oles welded up, verything
sanded smooth, nd then powdercoated. A 10-bolt Chevy rearend was
added along with leaf springs from a '52 passenger car. Next came
Mustang IFS, CI 2-inch dropped spindles, at Fendered Street Rod Shop
sway bars, nd rack-and-pinion steering. Then chose to finish
the chassis off with Cragar wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich rubber.
Inside, here it matters most how comfortable of a ride you have, s a
pair of custom Nissan Stanza seats covered in gray leather. The custom
door panels are covered with gray tweed and the floor is covered in
gray carpet. The gauges where replaced with a Cyberdyne digital
instrument panel, hile the steering wheel was replaced with one from
Billet Specialties. Tunes are supplied by an Alpine stereo system.
The builder had some help building this show winning truck. The paint, hich
is what first catches your eye, as applied by ACM Auto Body, he
graphics and pinstriping were carefully laid out by Mark Lueck
Designs, nd the bodywork (and all the metalwork) was done by Ron
Batson of Batson Sheetmetal. Colin Rogers gets credit for getting the
chassis, ngine, nd transmission all together, aking the stats that
started our story out possible. Armando's Upholstery is responsible
for making the builders ride to the trucks shows (where he wins all those
trophies) comfortable. And, lthough it only took the builder one year to
mold this truck into what it is today, e believe it'll be bringing
trophies home for quite a while.
