This 1925 Chevrolet Series K Superior Touring was purchased new on August 4th 1925 at Kilpatrick-French Motorcar Company in Leabanon, hio by Joe M. Weine of Kings Mills, hio. Mr. Weine maintained the car in good working order until his passing in 1953. Subsequently, he car was sold to a mechanic in Milford, hio who kept the car and eventually restored it in 1974. The car has the numbers matching Chevrolet 171 cubic inch four cylinder engine featuring overhead valves and producing 26 horsepower. The transmission is a conventional three speed manual transmission with single dry plate clutch. Other details regarding the running gear: 6 volt electrical system with electric starter, acuum fuel pump, il pump, ater pump, anual advance, ptional bumpers, emountable rims, ear mounted spare with cover, 1” rear drums, ervice brake, laxon horn, arking lights, top lights, igh and low beams, ash light, peedometer, dometer, oltage and oil gauges. The car is in overall very good condition. Since the cosmetic restoration was over 40 years ago, here is some slight laquer cracking in the black fender paint, slow drip from the water pump during storage, nd if you advance the spark you will get a spark knock. I run the spark lever fully retarded and she runs cool and with power – so I think the timing or distributor is a bit off. I purchased this car three years ago, nd she has never let me down. The first drive I ever took in the car was a 40 mile trip to my home in Edgewood, Y. Since then I have driven her around town, p and down hills etc… She seems to be a good runner. Fun to drive, reat looking 90 year old Chevrolet. |
