I bought this 1950 Chevy pick up 3800 survivor truck after hearing the amazing history behind it and seeing how solid it is as a survivor truck. I heard about this truck through a friend who knew of the family who had owned it since new and knew it was going to be up for sale. I followed up on it and I ended up buying it from the son who inherited it from the original farmer (his dad) after he passed away. The farmer bought it new and had been using it around his farm and as a daily driver going into town etc. The farmer ended up getting older and parked the truck about 8 years or so ago. After I bought it from his son, pulled it out of his barn where the old farmer had parked it and brought it home. I had my mechanics go through the truck for me and we discovered that everything was in pretty good shape still. We did a complete tune up including point, lugs, attery etc. we saw that at one time the previous owner converted it to a 12 volt system. All of the headlight, linkers, top lights etc are still working and even the spot light turned right on. Really Neat! We did the rear brakes which stop the truck great (fronts should still be done). This truck fires right up on the first try. The 235 6 cyl engine runs great with no knocks or misses. All of the guages are still working and the speedo works although the needle broke off. the carb could still use a adjustment etc. We are running the truck off a auxillary tank in the cab as the original gas tank should be cleaned out or replaced before using. (lmc truck or jim carter truck has them reasonably) The 4 speed transmission shifts great like it should and this truck cruises like a 50 chevy truck should. The farmer still had a old pto on the transmission that is not hooked up. The windows roll up and down with help and all of the glass is there as pictured. There were some cracks here and there I pictured. the tires look servicable but not new. Cosmetically this truck is very original. It has original paint as far as we can see. The original paint appears to be a burgandy color with black fenders. The body is very clean and solid for being a survivor. We pounded out a few dents in the rear fenders back portion and looks good. I pictured and videoed any spot or blemish I saw. Overall extremely solid. The inside of the truck looks good as well and looks to be original. The floors look solid and the seat looks good as pictured. the underside of this truck looks good and the frame looks good. The bed has the original wood slats in it with a metal sheet on top of them. This is a truck that you can have a blast with leaving it as it is with some minor tweaking or take it to the next while enjoying it. I do not want to overcall this truck or undercall it let the picture, ideo, escription tell the story. This truck comes with a clean and clear title ready for you to register. the license plate and plate toppers do not go with the truck as they are part of our personal collection. As everyone has their own idea of what a classic unrestored truck should be, would recommend that you come and inspect the truck by appointment or hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you before bidding. I require a 500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I can help recommend shippers i have used in the past who have been very reasonable. If you have any questions, lease call 563 568 5111 or 563 568 1182 and i will do my best to answer them for you. Thanks for looking at our classic 1950 Chevy pick up truck!
