Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1968

Available for your consideration is a 1968 Chevy Camaro convertible 327 W/ 711 Deluxe Ivory interior. This vehicle is a "TRUE BARN FIND" Fresh out of a Pa barn sitting for years. This is a 2 owner vehicle that has been in the same family since new. The intentions were always there to make this vehicle 100% as it sat for years in the barn unmolested. This is the right car!!! Laser Blue metallic code U-4 interior code 711 RPO with the deluxe interior as you can see including the wood grain dash and console trim. This vehicle is equipped with a 327 V8 that turns freely and yet to be started after all these years. Figure better left to the expert to go thru it first before it is fired. Talking with the family the odometer is to be correct and they have no reason to say any different showing 55,654 Miles. This Camaro has sat more than it has been driven which is very obvious. This is an amazing color combo with the deluxe interior. Only 16,927 Camaro convertibles were produced in 1968. I could not pin point the actual number of laser blue with the options and color code & stripe package convertibles produced but what little research I have done finding this is a rare deal.... I am certain the experts are well aware. This vehicle has tons of potential. Wish I did not have so many projects. Being 3rd generation in the autobody business and currently owning a collision facility I know what I am looking at. My shop is not a resto shop and have to have the right equipment to do this type job or plenty of time at home to take this project on to do the car right and I do not have either. So this car is being made available but will not give it away either. Done this will be something special. The trunk & floors are incredible. I can not get under the car for pictures but grabbed some shots from the inside it really is something special for the year. What a solid car. The outside is mostly surface contamination laying on top of the surface it is not dug into the metal it is laying on top. The front fenders should be replaced they are great and patchable for a lesser vehicle. This auction sale comes with two new OEM fenders a left and a right that were purchased back in the day. OEM originals. These fenders alone are quite the find. Also both OEM fender extensions. The rear quarters at the bottoms will need patch panels. With the exception of that strip and repaint this car. It is not dented up, very straight car. A great restoration candidate. The interior is awesome the deluxe interior with the wood grain trim. Looks outstanding. The drivers seat has a rip. This interior not only looks great it is not moldy or have much of a smell or odor that you would think for as long as this car sat in a barn, ruly unbelievable. I pulled up the back seat and taken a picture of the floor just incredible how clean and solid. This will truly be a beautiful car when restored. The drivetrain is a 327 V8 that spins freely and believe it will fire with no issues with some time spent on it and new fuel. I am certain the cooling, uel and points, tc will need completely gone thru before you even attempt to fire. Once again the former owner said this vehicle was driven into the barn and truly have no reason to believe otherwise. The transmission is a powerglide and the rear end is a 10 bolt. The left rear tire does go down rather quickly but will hold air long enough to load and unload. The car does roll freely. If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact me with any questions. You could put this on the road fairly easy and would not take much to put a paint job on this car but truly the way to go is for the right person to get this car and do the right restoration. The value is there with these options, tripe code and color combo. You will not be disappointed in this Camaro convertible. You can find a few around yet and paint them and do them any way you want but try finding one with this combo, riginality. A beautiful unmolested barn find. Selling at a price you can still afford to do the right restoration and be in this car the way you want it for the right money and know what you have vs buying a done car overpaying and finding surprises. I have a clear title ready to transfer. I will help load on a trailer or assist your shipper. Thanks for viewing.
