Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1977
1977 Camaro Type LT Fuel Injected?
I'm the second owner of the car. It hadnot beenregistered for 15 plus years. I found this car 4 months ago being parted out (no engine). I have done a lot of research on this model year as I have restored 6 second generation F bodies in the last 9 years. There are many peculiar things about this carthat points to it being what's called a factory back door delivery. It has a correct fuel injection stampon the instrument cluster bezel which matches the GM text that would have been used for this period vehicle and a 1977 Caprice Classic control box in the trunk which operated the factoryC/Bradio, ower antenna and possiblythe fuelinjection. Note: the factoryC/Bradio was only available in Caprice Classic which required the use of this relay box.
My investigation tells me that this car had a 305 with Bosch fuel injection system. I think this was done due to the fact that the Olds line took most of 350CUsin 1977 and there was a shortage later in the production year.
I have started restoration on this vehicle and installed many new parts.
This would make a great Father and Son project car.
This car has had some rust repairs and it looks like the paint is about 5-7 years old, ut looks great.
