Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1957
Classic 1957Chevrolet 1/2 ton step side pickup truck Series 3100. 43,900 miles is stated on the title of the vehicle as actual miles however I cannot confirm this due to not knowing the prior history of vehicle. Exterior color is a red maroon with an interior color grey. Cloth seats in good condition. No real noticeable signs of rust. Small chips of paint on door and possibly other areas of the truck but nothing that is very noticeable. Wood bed of truck is lightly stained and peeling and could easily be refinished. I spent around $4,000.00 on parts for this truck alone at Classic Industries. I've owned this truck for 7 years which was stored in a climate control garage. The only thing I was able to do with this truck was put on the front bumper and grill. Coming with this truck is chrome back bumper with brackets, eproduction steering wheel with horn cap, ew chrome, nside and outside door handles, ew left and right hand side view mirror arms with gaskets, ew stainless steel tailgate chains, ew left and right chrome tail lights with wiring and brackets. When I bought the truck, revious owner gave me new shifter that he planned on installing which is included. Unfortunately I am selling this truck due to a new businessendeavorthat I started 9 years ago and have been busy since and do not see any time that I will be able to play and enjoy this truck any time soon. Recently had gas tank completely drained and cleaned. Recently had Holly 2 Barrel carburator rebuilt. New battery, ew alternator. Recently took to my mechanic, ho is a car enthusiast, ho told me it was an automatic turbo 350 transmission. Also noticed that heater core was leaking so we by-passed it and will need to be replaced if wanting to use for heat. I asked about the originality of the frame, nd was told the back and front look original to him with the exception of the cross member on front being removed for the v-8 engine. Steers rough due to worn king pins that need to be replaced. Mechanic believes that all panels are original because of the thickness. With the exception of the 2 front fenders which I was told was fiberglass. Also upon mechanic driving truck, e said the transmission shifted smoothly and truck brakes well. Must have had new tires prior to me buying the vehical because the needle like nubs are still on the tires and the tread looks good. I have rolled the tires in the last 7 years so the tires would not get flat spots. Must have shorts in the wiring because it drains a new battery within a day. Able start truck in gear. Hood needs to be aligned on the passenger side as shown in the picture. Must open driver door from the outside. However, t does come with new inside and outside door handles. Gauges seem to work but perhaps not accurately including the speedometer. Temperature gauge does not work at all. Somebody has cut out part of dash for gauges as shown in picture. Engine runs strong with the codes T0305D. I looked this up a few months ago on the internet and it stood for: T=made inTonawanda, 3=March, 5=the 5th day, nd D=either a 1958 or 1960 283 V-8. Engine has headers with mufflers and exhaust pipe ending just behind the cab. You are more than welcome to inspect and drive the truck before you bid.All final payments must be received and cleared through bank before personal pickup or any alternative shipping means. $2,000.00 Deposit amount is required within 48 hours of auction close.
