1937 Chevrolet Holden Australian Phaeton Project. Rare! NO RESERVE. 1937 Chevrolet Holden-Bodied Australian Phaeton Project. NO RESERVE. Listed for the Ardie Overby estate. This is a rare opportunity for the right person to obtain one of the rarest Chevrolets produced during the 1930's. Just 285 of these Phaetons were built by the Holden company in Australia. Approximately 12 of these Phaetons remain in the world today. with most residing "Down Under. " This is a true Phaeton with no windows in the doors. There are provisions for snap-on side curtains. The car was intended as primarily a fair weather open touring car with convertible top. RIGHT HAND DRIVE. When acquired by the current owner the car was completely disassembled. The body was stripped to bare metal and by a local shop that was ready to begin the final body work when the owner passed away last spring. There is rust repair to be done. In the meantime. the original Chevrolet "Stovebolt 6" engine and transmission were professionally and completely rebuilt. The frame and chassis were fully restored with every part being rebuilt or replaced. New. correct Firestone wide whitewall tire were fitted to the powder coated primed wheels. Please see photos. The car includes everything shown in the photos. plus many other small parts. All of the unique "Holden-only" parts are there and everything else is stock 1937 Chevrolet with any needed parts easily obtainable from many sources. Only major items missing are the gauges. grille and bumpers. which are stock Chevrolet. Includes books. manuals and photos to aid in the restoration. Also included is a second rolling chassis for pre-fitting the body assembly. What you see is what you get. While there is work to be done. the results will be a highly desirable. very rare Chevrolet. The owner was well known for his show-winning restorations and his plans for this car were the same. high standard.
