Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1965
I have owned this car for 10 years and Ibelieve that I am the third owner. The man I bought it from owned a body shop and had been told of the car's existence in the town of Camarillo California. It had been sitting in a garage there for a long time and he bought it and painted it. When I bought the car the paint was excellent and I have never needed to do anything but maintain that paint job. I did however replace a lot of chrome and stainless on the car. I put the side exhaust and the knock off wheels on the car. I bought the car in Ventura California. The motor andtransmission are theoriginal numbers matchingpower train that came from the factory. You can see a picture of the under the glove box data plates and the VIN stamped on the engine pad.In the 10 years I have owned it, have driven it very very little. It has always been stored in a heated, overed garage and was kept in running order. I recently have been moving some cars to my home from my storage garage and I took a new interest in this mid year vet. It has not been molested. It is a very honest car with its original running gear. The convertible top was replaced by the previous owner -- he used a navy blue Mercedes Hartz material -- originally the car would have had a white vinyl top.I listed this car on e-bay about 4 months ago and nearly sold it. But I decided to keep it and put time and money in to improving it. I took out the transmission and rebuilt it as it had a second gear syncro that had a grind to it. It now shifts flawlessly. I also completely restored the interior. New seat covers, arpet, eat belts. Interior paint is new. I also found the correct intake manifold and also the original valve covers. The engine bay was completely detailed.I also power cleaned the frame and repaired a few small metal pieces on the frame. After the welding was complete, he frame wasprimed and painted. You can see in the photos that the undercarriage presents incredibly well now.I will put up as many photos as e-bay will allow. I may take this car toBarrett in January. But you can feel free to make a deal with me now. I would love interested parties to come and see the car. It's incredibly nice and sounds like a beast and pulls with great power. And it's the best combination of colors.I'm sure I've forgotten things so I will try to add them as I remember. But to sum it up...I just finished sorting out all the little issues that take this car from a 2.5 to a 1.25.On Oct-29-15 at 17:10:00 PDT, eller added the following information:Apologies for taking down the last auction anddelisting -- I had not placed a reserve on the car -- so I havedown so and also placed a buy it now. Ialso added the NADA book guide estimate on the value of this rare Corvette. Yes, toobelieve that the good folks at NADA are bit high and also high in their estimates -- Howeveras a piece of research, t isn't bad. I also wanted to mention that I would rate the paint on this car to be an 8 out of 10 -- I am a harsh grader.
