In its third year of production, he C-2 continued its evolutionary process. Although the body and interior carried over with only minor changes, here were some big changes to the car in other areas. This was the last year for the fuel injected 327 small block and the first year for the legendary big block. In '65 it was a one year only 396ci. This was also the first year for the extremely popular, ut rare side mount exhaust system and 4-wheel disc brakes. So, here was a whole lot going on with Corvette in '65!

The example featured here is a bit unusual in that it's equipped with the disc brake delete option. In '65 disc brakes were all new in American cars and old habits die hard. So, hevrolet offered a "Substitution Credit" of $64.50 which was a decent amount of cash in '65 for any customer who wanted drum brakes instead of disc's. The gentleman who originally ordered this '65 apparently decided to take advantage of the $ savings and opt for the drums. But, e (or she) also decided to go for the hi performance L79 350hp 327!

We sold this '65 to the previous owner about 5 years ago. It was his intention to drive it almost daily and drive it he did! Along the way we did a complete restoration of the interior and installed power brakes with a dual master cylinder to make it more user friendly. It also recently had a new soft top installed. It's a fantastic driver with nice paint and a very strong drive train that you could drive anywhere. And isn't that what experiencing these cars is all about?
