Description for Chevrolet C-10 1972
Selling my toy. I bought this truck when I was a kid and drove it all over the country in the Navy. I am the third owner. The original owner decided that small blocks are for girls and put in a 454. It was a bone stock motor but still made more horse than the tires would put to the ground. So, got bigger tires. And a 4 inch lift to fit them. Being a 4x4 I took it off roading. I then started breaking things. It was fun. It was also expensive. I have been through every part of this truck from front to rear. The last thing I wrecked was the engine. Waterdown the intake at full on hammered down. Managed to save the heads, he rest was junk. So I found another block and crank, rdered a rebuild kit and sent it to the machine shop. Got the motor dropped in the engine bay and life called me away.Didn't even get the oil pump primed. So, t just sat in the shop for awhile until the space was needed for other things, hile a few parts "disappeared". I hate seeing it just sit there and rust like that so, am offering it here in the hope that someone will buy it and enjoy it as much as I have. Here is a run down of the equipment.
5 core radiator and high flow detached trans cooler, 54 V8,750 cfm holley 4bbl, delbrock intake, ooker headers with flowmaster mufflers(dual exhaust), h350 transmission equipped with a th 400 converter (furnace brazed, nti ballooning plate, 50 stall, ardened races, olished oil passages, tage 2 shift kit), ew process 205 transfer case with5000 miles on rebuild(blew it up during 4 wheel burnout), ustom drive lines(front hashigh angle double cv), eavy u joints, ana 44 axles front and rear. The rear axle is now the weakest link in the drive train and I have ruined 3 so far. The front axle I had rebuilt the same time as the t-case for good measure and have never had a problem with it. It has warn hubs as well. The lift kit is Rancho(blocked rear) 4 inches. At one time I rebuilt the entire brake system with new parts. Everything except the pedal.
You will have some work getting it running, nd I never got around to the interior which is pretty ratty.
