For sale: 1979 Chevrolet K10 4x4 short box SWB decent driver. One olderowner from1979-2015, ell maintained and never beat on. Well equipped higher option Silverado package and factory rally wheels, ilt, ruise, nd intermittent wipers. Great color combo with the black/silver paint and red interior. The older fellow I acquired the truck from purchased it in 79 from a local leasing outfit herewith 300 miles on it. Original manuals and warranty card included, nd the truck is still wearing it's original jack, andle, nd spare. Good looking, ood running and drivingtruck that would be great for Saturdaytrips to the Home Depot, r todinner on Sunday with the wife.As is typical of this era Chevy, t does have some underbody rust, ut it's a great driver you could use as is for a long time till you could get around to someday restoring it.

Exterior:One repaint in the original black and silver in the 80s, nd the clear has peeled in several spots. Would definitely need repaint to be really nice. Original owner had asunroof installed, s was popular back in the day. Has some rust, ut not the sitting-at-the-bottom-of-a-lake rot so often seen on these era Chevy trucks. Only minor surface rust on the exterior, nd a couple very small holes, ne behind front wheel and one behind rear wheel.Does have some larger rust thru in the typical spotbehind the front wheels, nd around the wheel wells in the box. This is arid high desert country, nd we typically don't see major rust/rot here and frame rust is unheard of. Sand, ot salt is used on the roads and that helps too. What does happen here is anywhere that mud packs in, oisture gets trapped and does cause issues. I have included pics in the referenced photobucket link of all the problem areas - behind front wheels, round wheel wells in box, nd some spots on floor.Cab mountslook good and of course frame and structure issolid. I think if you wanted to just drive the truck you could treat the problem areas with Metal Ready and POR-15 and forget them. If you want to restore it, hose areas will need new metal.Nothing hidden or covered up with undercoat, hat you see is what you get! Probably safe to say therust belt Midwest and East coast guyshaven'tseen this level of truck locally for 25years now. Glass is good, hrome and moldingshave some dings but no pitting.Owner added some cool 50's "Fleetside" chrome scripts which required drilling acouple holes in box, hey will be included as will the aluminum DeeZee steps that go with the truck.

Interior:Original and decent driver quality. Dash has a few cracks at speaker as shown. Original upholstery has tears under the seat cover. Original carpet shows wear at driver heel area. Most everything seems to work, ights, eater, ipers, tc and aftermarket radio. Cruise control and speedo are non-op. Driver window doesn't roll up/down properly and needs a regulator.

Mechanical:Original 350 4 barrel and automatic trans in good running condition. Runs and drives great,and pulls strong. Speedo quit at mileage indicated in pic, wner never fixed it and stated the truck probably has around a hundred thousand miles now. It's a tight truck that runs well and you would think it's low mile driving it.New heater core and newFlowmaster exhaust, ires are two different brands but have decent tread. Smokes a puff at startup, ost likely valve seals have hardened, lan on it using some oil. Like most of these trucks from this era, t needs a driver side window regulator and speedometer head. Cruise control is non-op. I tested the transfer case and it does go into both high and low range but the lock light on the dash doesn't light up. Both gas tanks work, hich is a rarity, nd I've driven it off both tanks.I'vebeen driving it back and forth to work and it seems great.
