I have had this 1951 chevy shortbox 1/2 ton in my collection for the last 15 years or so. I pulled it out of storage last week and had a complete tune up done to it including points plugs condensor etc. I rebuilt the carb put in a new brake master cylinder on and new brake lines to the rear. The brakes stop the truck good the way it is but to complete the job the two front brakes should be hooked up etc. I noticed the floor had rust in the kick panels so I had new kick panels and floor pans welded in and installed a rubber floor mat. The only rust issues to my knowledge are pictured and videod so make sure to really study them. In my opinion, othing crazy and minor for being a survivor and 64 years old. I was going to paint the truck but after looking over the body and petina, honestly beleive that this truck would look amazing if the new buyer shot it in clear coat and left it the way it is. Glass is all there as pictured, ut the passenger side window should be replaced as it is cracked (easy fix $39 precut LMC trucks) The windows go up and down with help but could use oiling. The wire harness is the original cloth wire harness and should be replaced before using due to age (approx. $200 LMC trucks easy fix) we bypassed the original wire harness with a 12 volt coil and battery and hard wired the headlights to a switch. The gas tank is the original tank but should be cleaned or replaced (approx $150) The wood in the box was rotted so I put a plywood sheet over what was left. The frame looks solid and has a numbers matching title ready for you to register. AS the video shows, drove this truck 45 mph and it handled the way a 51 chevy truck should. It shifted all of the gears like it should and is a blast to drive. The seat has a seat cover on it over the original springs and should be reupholstered. This is a truck that you can drive and have fun with while tinkering with it and taking it to the next level. It is a rare five window and the shortbox 1/2 ton is very deisirable and easy to park in most garages. As everyone has their own opinion of what a survivor shortbox 1/2 ton truck is, would recommend you come and inspect the truck or hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you. I require a 500 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, will assume you are a dreamer or scammer and not serious about buying the truck. I can help recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very reasonable. Thanks and have fun bidding on this 1951 Chevy 1/2 ton shortbox pick up truck!
