Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1969
Here we go.....I've been pushing this over and over. But time has finally come to make a decision and let go of my Pristine 1969 Camaro SURVIVOR.
I picked her up 3 years ago, hen isold a full on "fastest street car" project of mine w/o the mechanicals. It was also a 69 Camaro, o i had some pretty impressive parts i was looking to put into a solid body. Thats when i came across "Goldie". I was going to put my BB chevy and YSI blower in the car but, fter "really" realizing how clean and straight/solid she was, y friends started telling me i should think this over... And i started to really feel the same... Thats how she came to "stay" almost 100% stock.
She had 48k miles when i got her here from the second owner (previous and first owner's we're women). She now has 50 something 3 years later. The only parts i changed on the car we're the carpet, s i tought it didnt match the condition of the rest of the interior, nd i put new sill plates at same time to match (i still have the originals available). I also removed the original radio, hinking i was gonna open the hole in the dash for an up to date unit, ntil i came to my senses and also, ound that nice mounting plate that hides my top of the line Alpine unit. You'll note in the pictures, he hole for the original radio is empty, ut the original to the car, nd working, adio is included in the sale. The dash pad i think has been replaced but i cant really be 100% sure. I changed the rear shelf to one that has built in grilles (hidden) for the speakers, ut again, have and will include the nice original. Thats about it for the interior.
The exterior is very nice as you can tell by looking at the pictures. The paint is about 80% original. The front has been repainted due to some stone chips and a scratch in a parking lot at one point. But no body work or heavy work was ever done from what i was told, nd can attest by looking the car over with a fine comb. (Just to point out, his is my personnal car, dont sell cars proffessionnally in any manner and/but, am a pretty serious first generation Camaro "Nut" and got to know them very well over the years as i have owned quite a few, o, hen i say she's solid and clean" i like to think i know what im saying.) The car wears all its original sheetmetal and no patch work has been done on the car. Also, special feature found on the car representing its VERY GOOD and "above general" condition is, he trunk's finish. Yes! The trunk's floor is still showing very well with the "speckle" paint material finish. Something i had never come across in all those years at shows and other expos. (Many people restoring Camaro's try to emulate the look of the "speckle paint" and fail, s, ven with a special "Zolotone" 3 part product, hey cant come close to reproducing this special finish that this car still wears very proudly)The sheetmetal is nice and straight and the body lines are crisp. No thick bondo will be found on this car!!! Magnets welcomed!!The only thing the car could use, ould be some new wheel opening mouldings, s the original to the car, ave seen better days, ut i have a repro set that would come for the new owner to decide if he/she want's to put them on. I didnt yet, hinking im keeping her as original as i can.The vinyl top is nice and has no scratches or tears/rips and is in perfect condition. The only bumps i was able to find on the car are 2 small ones that could easily be removed by a paintless repair specialist and i was planning to have them done before i would have had the car repainted, ome day, ut beeing so small, hey never really we're a priority.
The motor, rans, iff and every mechanical is, s far as i could tell (checked numbers and they match serial) matching to the car and in perfect working order. The exhaust is an Flowmaster American Thunder system with some Walker Mufflers for a reduced rumble. The police here, ought it was too noisy so it now has nice, owerfull sounding mufflers that are not too annoying. The A/C s al there but the compressor and condenser. Those parts i removed when i was going to put my Big Block in the car, ight before ei came to my senses... I have every part, ut and bolt all bagged and tagged for you to put back if desired. Its an easy job of about 2 hours plus the re-fill of the system. I also put an aluminum radiator when the orignal had a little puncture, ut i have the #'s matching unit with its tags and all (great core shape, us needs the hole filled, ut i had the alum one on hand, nd in my mind was gonna do the motor swap so.......But i didnt!!!!! Lol!!)
The mods i made to the car are mainly for comfort and fun and easily reversed to stock.
First you have the sound system, hen i also did "DynaMat" the floor, oors and rear sides top to bottom, irewall, ear firewall and package shelf also top to bottom TWICE, ou can say it really "thumps" when a door is closed! It makes for a solid car, hat also sounds solid! Then the most appreciated mod, he fast ratio steering box. This makes the car such a joy to drive compared to the old "overassisted" power steering!!! The car now feels like a go cart!! Seriously!! And then, finished my little improvements with a hockey stick stripe decal on each side as well as a set of SS396 repro wheels in sizes 15x6 front and 15x8 rear with 215 and 275 mm wide tires respectively.
I guess that this give's you a prety good idea of this mint and orignal surviving 1969 Camaro. There are not many left like this today that can attest to an all original/ born with drivetrain, ody, nterior etc..... That on top of things, till looks and perform this good!!!She reall is a rare piece. Oh, forgot!! She even wears the aluminum heatshield protectors around the sparkplugs!!! How's that for original!! These we're about the first things that mechanics ripped out on the first tune up!! Well, ot on this cream puff!!! She's been pampered from day one and taken care as we wish a lot more cars were for us to find in this condition today.
And before i let you go, was lucky enough to find a 1966 Chevelle from her original owner in about the same condition. And that is the only reason why im contemplating sellng "Goldie".... Sadly, t this moment (one day!!!) i can't keep em all and have to make a decision. So, ere is my baby, p for your consideration.
I hope you like what you see and see what and how special and unique she really is. In trying to get a comparative, never was able to get one... there is/ was always a point, e it, ah, es the cars had 1/4's put on" or "no, orry, ts not the original drivetrain" or again, yes the floors have some rust but hey just a little, hey wont need replacing for at least 1 or 2 years" My car dont have that.
She's one of a kind and i hope you'll see that and bid accordingly. Im beeing honest and giving you everything outright, lease act the same and bid if only serious. 2000$ deposit by paypal 48 hours from winning auction. Or i reserve the right to relist.
Car is sold as is, here is. No warranty other than your getting an extremely solid Camaro!!!
I reserve the right to end bidding anytime as car is listed localy.
This is my first time selling on ebay, o bare with me...... Thanks!!
On Nov-23-15 at 05:11:14 PST, eller added the following information:
I ADDED SOME "UNDER CAR" PICTURES TO REALLY SHOW HOW SOLID SHE IS. YOU CAN SEE I LIGHTLY RUBBED A FEW AREAS THAT EVEN SHOW THE "GRAIN" IN THE PRIMER (how's that for close up!) THAT'S UNDER THE VERY LIGHT COAT OF ROAD GRIME SHE's ACCUMULATED ON HER LOW 50K MILES.
YOU'LL ALSO SEE WHERE I SCRUBBED AN "HIDDEN" SERIAL NUMBER (FROM BEHIND A WHEEL WELL TRUNK DROP SIDE PANEL), nbsp;YOU'LL ALSO SEE THERE, T THE SAME SPOT, nbsp;HOW ITS JUST A LIGHT COAT OF DUST THAT's COVERING THE SHEETMETAL. IF WISHED, NE WITH AN AFTERNOON TO SPARE AND A POWER WASHER COULD, FTER EASILY WASHING THE FLOOR, AVE LUNCH ON EVERY INCH OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THIS CAR. SHE RALLY IS THAT SOLID AND CLEAN. I CANT SAY IT ENOUGH!!!!!
TOUGHT I NEEDED TO POINT THAT OUT.
WITH THE INTEREST I GOT, HAD SOME PEOPLE TOLD ME THEY SEE CLEAN CAMAROS QUITE OFTEN, UT!!!!! PLEASE.... THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE CAR, TS AN ALL ORIGINAL PANEL CAR, ND AN ULTRA LOW MILES ONE AT THAT (just turned 50k miles). SO PLEASE, EE HER AS SUCH. YES THERE ARE A DIME A DOZEN "CLEAN" CAMAROS WITH BODY REPAIRS AND MUD TROUGHOUT (even well done, nbsp;its still there.....) OR WITH FLOORS PATCHED THAT MAY OVERALL EVEN -----"LOOK"-----BETTER THAN MINE, UT THEY ARE NOT THIS SOLID, RIGINAL AND PERFECT....... I AM WILLING TO BET AGAINST PRETTY MUCH ANYONE WITH THEIR 140K MILES ON THE CLOCK, RESTORED" AND PATCHED BODIES, O PUT EM NEXT TO MY CAR AND HAVE THE SAME TALK.....
DONT GET ME WRONG, HERE IS A MARKET FOR EVERY ONE OF THOSE CARS..... YES. JUST PLEASE, OMPARE APPLES TO APPLES. YOU ARE GETTING AN EXTREMELY SOLID CAR AND ONE THATS 99% ORIGINAL AND MATCHING ON TOP OF THAT!!!!
-------- ITS AS CLOSE AS YOULL EVER BE ABLE TO GET TO ENTERING A DEALERSHIP IN 1969 TO PROCURE A NEW CAMARO -------
IF YOU DONT WANT A VIRGIN CAR, HATS FINE TOO.... LIKE IVE BEEN TOLD, GAIN, 9's ARE A DIME A DOZEN.... I JUST HOPE THE DIFFERENCE IS UNDERSTOOD...... I SURE WISH I COULD SHOW THE CAR IN PERSON TO EVERY ONE OF YOU JUST SO YOUD GET "WHY" IM AMPHASIZING ON THESE POINTS. Not easy at a distance!!!
