Most know the history of the Camaro and the fact that when Ford came out with the Mustang, eneral Motors had to quickly counter with a competitive type of car and the Camaro was born. Basic styling of both is a long nose and a short rear deck. There are Camaros collecters who will tell you that styling wise, oth interior and exterior, he Camaro is far superior and they will also tell you that a Camaro handles better then any of the Mustangs. Obviously this is an eternal argument that will go on forever but there is no getting away from the fact that the 1969 Camaro is one beautiful car. Here at MissChiTown we especially like the design of the Camaro interior and we would agree that it has a much more sporty flair then the Mustang.
Another point we would like to make before telling you about the merits of the car in this ad is that today's collectors of Camaros are broken down into two categories. The collector that wants the car to be completely 100% original and even though some of the components judged by today's standards seem a little antiquated. The other category is the collector who wants all the original looks of a particular car but wants the mechanical components to be more modern such as disc brakes, xhaust system, ooling and things like that and cars like this are called retro rods.
The 1969 Camaro that is available in this auction is of the latter category and looks just about like a stock 1969 Camaro SS at first glance and it is according to its VIN number an original SS but it has been improved mechanically in many dramatic ways.
The first thing that has been done to the car, t was born as a 4-speed with a 396 but was converted to a big block 454/450+ plus hp with a 4-speed automatic.
In addition the following upgrades have been made to this car.
Nostalgic Air air-conditioning (blows cold)
4 wheel power disc brakes
Hooker headers
Flo Master Exhaust
New Cam, delbrock Fuel Injection (Pro-Flo Performer)
New Be Cool radiator with electric fans
Quick Silver shifter
Cluster gauges, il-Water-Volt Meter
Tach on Wheel
Chrome air cleaner
American Racing Torq Thrust Wheels
The car also has the following:
Power Steering
Power Brakes
The seller rebuilt the front end (tie rods, tc)
All new shocks when purchased
New tires July 2015
The odometer reads 53,789
The private seller purchased this car about ten years ago after it had received a rotisserie frame off restoration.
With all these fabulous performance upgrades this is truly a car that has all the vintage looks of the beautiful 1969 Camaro SS but you can think of it as handling like a much newer Corvette and more then likely as fast as the new Corvettes (if not faster). The car had a rotisserie frame off restoration prior to the current owner. The car is finished in a beautiful silver paint and black vinyl top and restored interior to original specs. The air-conditioning blows cold and the car even comes equipped with a cluster of gauges and a tachometer.
What we at MissChiTown really love about the car is the fact is that it has such a great stance and presence.
The owner is selling this car so that he can go onto another project and therefore has put a very low reserve on the car and is a great opportunity to bid to win and be happy that you did.
