Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1988
You are looking at my Extremely low production #17 1988 35th Anniversary Corvette. I was told this one was used in a few TV commercials and print ads before it was sold !!I always wanted one of these rare 4+3 manual corvettes when I was a kid as I know they made very few of them and they have becoming more rare every year and that they were set now to skyrocket in value. It was in good shape when I bought her a few years back but was sitting in a shed for quite some time as the older gentleman who had her lost his eyesight and wasn't able to drive any longer. He didn't want to part with the car so he kept it for another 10 years till I found it or he felt that that I was the right person to pass his prized possesion on to.
Last year after buying it and driving it home, brought it to a local Chevy / Corvette Specialist and told him to go through the car and make it 100% mechanically. He did a full tune up, ull fuel system cleaning. new fuel pump and ALL 8 NEW INJECTORS. and a fresh Mobil 1 oil change. He inspected all wheel bearings brakes and suspension components and found everything to be in great shape. He said it was one of the best running corvettes he has seen of this era. I believe the original owner took care of it very well may have put a cam in and had the heads done and put aftermarket valve covers on. I'm not sure ..just guessing because there is no smoke at all and it starts up every time. most cars of that era will blow smoke on startup due to bad valve guides. This one doesn't !! This is a very well optioned car and in following the build codes, t has an oil cooler and heavy duty raidator as well as the Z52 Sport Handling Package and Delco Blistin Gas Shocks tuned for that particular suspension....
Once I got all the mechanicals out of the way, next brought it to a high end paint shop. Since no bodywork was neede, ody was in perfect shape except for peeling clear coat, I had them prep it and spray it in OEM PPG base/clear Corvette white with the best clear coat money could buy. He also installed the Brand New Leather seat covers you see at a tune of $1,000.00 dollars. To make the interior perfect like new, ou could add a steering wheel for $235. .. Mine was in pretty good shape and I put a black cover on it anyway because I thought it looked better. to be hones, he only 2 things I haven't addressed yet is that the passenger side light works but wont flip up may possibly need a motor or might just be corroded...I'll look further into it and the center display of the dash is hard to read. I bought the new LCD panel that goes there but haven't gotten the nerve to pull the cluster out to put it in yet.
There in a nutshell is the story on my Corvette!!! any questions feel free to call 954-729-8293
If you win, ou need to contact me within 24 hours or I reserve the right to sell it to the next high bidder.
Anyone not paying if they will will be black listed as a non bidder and a complaint with ebay will be filed. So play fair!
